Interesting museum where can you see even a Guinness record glass for beer! It holds 105 l - dream for beer lovers. In the same building there is also a gallery with glass items exhibition - every year new one! And thena comes the well stocked shop with moderate prices. It is also possible to see glassblowers at work! But for that you have to make reservation in advance. Part of the building is a new hotel.

I've been here many times with visitors. As far as the store is concerned, one seems to find either much or nothing. In August I went to see the exhibition with a friend - we actually wanted to see how glass was made, but in the end we saw the most boring exhibition about glass over the centuries. It could have been so interesting, but no.

Huge place just out of town centre, easy walk though. Most of the glass ware downstairs in the shop is not local. There are samples of Glass blown by local Rudolf Wesinger opposite with information about him. Beautiful colours are seen in his works.

The small museum features an overview of the history of glass and a special exhibition every year. Monday to Thursday and also Saturday you have a chance to see glassblowers at work. They are very, very good and impressive.
In addition, you have the chance to go into a former automatic glass furnace which lies idle. This is not really something one can do every day, because most of the time, glass companies tear the furnaces down when they are not needed.
The museum is not owned by Stölzle-Oberglas, but only supported technically. A private family takes care of the museum, which I find an astonishing accomplishment.
A stop in the museum store rounds off your visit. Enjoy!
