Located in the estuary of the St. Lawrence River, Essipit Innu lands...

Located in the estuary of the St. Lawrence River, Essipit Innu lands provide some of the best places in the world to watch whales. Many species of whale, including the humpback whale, the blue whale and the beluga, are attracted by the abundance of food in the deep waters of the St. Lawrence River. Whales can be seen from the shoreline as they surface to breathe. A specially-built observation tower provides a spectacular view of the river. Croisieres Essipit provides more adventurous whale watchers with excursions Zodiac boats to observe the whales up close. Our whale-watching cruise captains take great pleasure in recounting captivating details on the lives of these impressive marine mammals. Their extensive knowledge of marine animals and ancient Innu beliefs will take you into another world!

Has been on Essipit zodiac 4 years ago--saw 4 species of whales and enjoyed whole experience, so we went back. Took 9 am boat in fog and saw nothing. Okay, not their fault, so we returned next day in nice weather and bought tickets for another zodiac trip. Instead we were put on a big 30 person boat (they say... More

Hello! Sorry that your whale watching cruise did not meet your expectations . The weather element , the number of animals and animal what we will observe is unfortunately beyond our control . We hope to see you again when the temperature will be more enjoyable . Have a good day! Jeannine Villeneuve More

Choose someone else other than Essipit! Key considerations, the other boat operators run 3hr trips, WHICH YOU WANT INSTEAD OF Essipit's scheme, as whale sighting periods during your cruise can vary. Essipit boards you at the set time if not later once everyone is outfitted (or if you are awaiting late arrivals). Boarding later does not extend the cruise time.... More

Breathtaking experience! We showed up on the pier and the last 2 seats were available.....and we were happy that the prices were cheaper than AML in Tadoussac. Thirty minutes before the sailing all of us (48 pax in 4 boats) got dressed and headed towards the gangway. We were asked to wear shoes and socks, pants and a sweater. A... More

It is with great pleasure that you welcome your comments ! It is indeed true to say that our prices are very competitive while offering sea experience for whale watching " unforgettable " ! Marine Park where we navigate is a great place for whales and we respect the regulations for a healthy coexistence between animals and us! Thank you... More

My 11-year old and I took a whale watching tour. It was excellent. The captain found the whales and kept a respectful distance. The guide was knowledgeable. The gear kept us dry and warm. Though I recommend you bring along a pair of gloves and a hat. It is cold on the water. We saw several types of whales and... More

Thank you for your reviews, we appreciate it ! It is actually inportant to dress warmly for whale watching as the water of the St. Lawrence River is not very hot and when it is warm , it's much nicer to meet the whales! Again thank you for your comment and these prompts us to remain the best ! Jeannine... More

We took the tour from Bergeronnes. As we where on the camping at Tadoussac (same group) we got an extra discount. This organisation is professional and has a lot of respect for the whales. They keep distance. The morning we went there were 5 zodiacs heading out but they do not always stick together so they can look for the... More

Been there at least 5 times over the years. Beautiful, peaceful..one suggestion at the condos, would be to screen in the decks..In the summer when the mosquitoes are abundant..it is impossible to sit outside after 4 pm...the minute you step outside your attacked by those pesky bugs..

We decided to take the trip on short notice and sent an e-mail. The answer came quickly and in English. The trip went well. The gear that they provided kept us warm except the gloves. Bring waterproof gloves if you have them! Our Captain Julie was very knowledgeable and took good care of us (in English) while giving us many... More

There was NOTHING about Esspiti that disappointed: we stayed in a wonderful condo, the bay of Escoumins was spectacular, the whale watching with the Nakama group was great. I highly recommend skipping Tadoussac and coming here instead.

We saw a beautiful sunset and sunrise as well as whales, seals and porpoises from the room. The chalet was very basic (and could do with a face lift) but had a working kitchen and good heating. If you want to light the fireplace you have to bring your own wood. We stayed in September and it was cold so... More

My family of had never been on a zodias before. Great fun, very exhilarating. Saw Dolphins early on, some seals AND whales. Minke (multiple sightings, multiple whales), even some side turns. Also saw a Fin whales. Enormous compared to Minke.
