Who would expect a kangaroo on an island off the coast of Rhode Island. The farm is a small family operation rather than the Bronx Zoo, so there are no bells and whistles. But, like much of Block Island, there is an element of simplicity...More

We were staying at the 1661 Inn so of course we had to walk across the street to see the animals. They have a large variety there, worth the walk over.

This was right next door to out hotel so we stopped by and then into North Light Fibers. The alpacas were out roaming as we headed to the shop. The other animals were all napping it seems - not one was moving around. I would go...More

This funky "zoo" is a complete surprise on Block Island - one would never expect to find camels, yaks, and other exotic animals on a New England island. Very friendly and free - always a plus.

Entry into the farm is free. You get what you pay for. There were a unique collection of animals, many running around free. Satisfy your curiosity. I'd stop there again.

We couldn't get over the fun of being at this farm where we could walk alongside the Alpacas and pet other animals in their enclosures. The animals were lovely, we had never seen a Zedonk before. Our teens would have stayed all day.

Beyond the rows of lavender, rudbekia, lettuce, etc., the farm gives way to the animals - we didn't see all the varieties noted here, but there was a yak, several donkeys, the zedonk and emus. It's apparent that the owners are building a couple of...More
