We had a gorgeous hike to the Northern tip of BI. On the way, there were amazing views of seals gracefully swimming near the shore and we came upon a group of at least 15 sunbathing at the tip on the beach! They were huge! We have beautiful pictures of the lighthouse and the residents of the sea. Great day!

We took a taxi to the lighthouse and for $22 each way, I didn't think the lighthouse was worth $44. It's pretty, but not any better than any other lighthouse. There was so much seaweed that half the beach was covered and stunk to high heaven from the rotting seaweed in the sun. We never made it to the point due to the stench. Maybe when it's not the height of the summer, the seaweed isn't as bad.

We walked from the 3/4 mile hike from the Settler's Rock to the North Lighthouse and it was well worth it. Walking along the beach can be difficult so try to steer your trek along the sand closest to the water which is readily packed and easier to navigate. We took the hike in early morning fog and talk about atmosphere! But no matter what time of day you choose, make sure you place this highlight on your list of "things to see" in Block Island.

The North Lighthouse is a nice little spot for a quick visit. Depending when you visit, there is a small museum inside the light house , which opens during the mid-summer season. The lighthouse itself is a cute building, typical architecture of New England lighthouses that dot the coast. Unfortunately it looks like it needs repairs or better upkeep, seems abandoned, which is a shame. It is about a 12 minute walks from the parking lot, and has several trails leading to the beach at Sandy Point. Overall if you see yourself going to Sandy Point or Wildlife Reserve, then visit the lighthouse, good for couple looking for picture shots, and maybe the museum will be open.

If I only had one day on Block Island, I would get off the ferry with my bike, cycle the several relatively flat but charming miles down Corn Neck Road to the northernmost point of the road, then hike out the half mile or so along the beach (footing is a bit challenging) to the beautiful North Lighthouse, my favorite on the island. Sadly, the lighthouse is still closed because of Covid — the interior has interesting exhibits about shipwrecks and the keepers. Walk a bit more out to the Sandy tip where, if you’re lucky, you’ll see seals cavorting and even pulling themselves onto the beach for some lounging about. A perfect day!

Even though you can't go inside it's well worth the very present nearly level walk out to the Lighthouse. Once you get there and you're done checking about continue beyond it and check out the point go all the way to the point and see how the waves what lap against each other past the point. If you like wild life, this is also where the seals hang out!

We hiked around the island on this trip and stopped at the north lighthouse. It’s a short walk from the parking lot to the lighthouse. It was closed and surrounded by bird nests, but it was a scenic walk. We did stop to stack the rocks at the shoreline.

got to see this place but the road ends about a half mile or so but you can see the building itself fine. A great stone building that helps guide ships from the rocks below. a nice drive up thru the North section of the Island. a good part of our tour.

We drove to the north end of the island to visit the North Lighthouse. There is a nice size parking lot and also room to park on the road leading to the parking lot.

It is probably about a 1/2 mile walk from the parking lot to the lighthouse. The walk is on a stony beach so it takes a little longer then it would on just a paved path. However, both ways we saw lots of seals just off shore. That was quite enjoyable and definitely made the walk worthwhile.

The lighthouse was nice to see close up. It was not open the day we visited, but it was still worth the walk.

We biked out to North Light on Block Island. There is one pretty big hill, but it is on the way back. You have to park your bike and then walk on the beach (sand and rocks) out to the Lighthouse. The sand is soft so it is a bit time consuming, but nice. I will say I like Southeast Light better. Nice lawn and you are around Monhegan Bluffs.
