Between Pawleys Island and Myrtle Beach, Litchfield is a quieter beach with plenty of public Access points. There are many vacation rentals and a few hotels in the area. Huntington Beach State Park is nearby, with camping, art exhibits and excellent birding opportunities. The beach...More
I’ve been coming to Litchfield Beach since I was a young kid. It’s clean and family friendly. The clubhouse, beach deck, and restrooms were recently redone and are very nice and they have a happy hour and sell small foods during certain hours. You will...More

My wife and I took our annual mini vacation in February. The weather wasn't the best, but we still were able to walk on the beach. Ate at some great restaurants in Murrells Inlet. Did some shopping. Mainly just rested and relaxed.
I spent my birthday weekend here with my husband and truly enjoyed the beach. The rooms weren't fancy but perfect for a beach stay. We could out sliding glass doors and see and hear the beach. It was just really a great stay. Hotel and...More

I'm fortunate to live in Litchfield Beach and have been to many of the concerts in years past. The first concert we attended we decided to save a buck and take our own beach chairs to sit outside the tent. Although it wasn't bad and we could still hear the music, we decided the following year to purchase reserve seating under the tent. Having done both, I prefer the reserved seats.
Litchfield Beach in January or February? (3 Replies)
I would love to spend a month on coastal South Carolina next winter. What is it like at Litchfield Beach during Jan. - Feb.? Realistically want to know what to expect as far as weather, restaurants, are pools open and if so heated? Are there many "snow birds"? I have been to Florida in the Winter and it is so crowded - wondering if I pick a more obscure place, albeit a bit north, what it would be like? Thanks!

Thanks Dude! Sounds like exactly what I'm looking for! Where I'm from it's teens - 30's. 50's and quiet - I'll take it. Any suggestions on where to stay?
condo or home rental by the night? (9 Replies)
Does anyone know whether anywhere in Pawley's Island or Litchfield Beach rents condos or houses by the night? My husband, son, and I are hoping to go in August for 3-4 nights for my birthday. I am afraid that all rentals will be weekly, since it is high season. But we need 2 bedrooms and a kitchen since my son is a baby. Any suggestions? Thanks!

We have vacationed in the area for thirty years. Most of the rentals during the summer season will be weekly because the companies are going to try to maximize the income for their clients. They probably won't commit to a nightly rental at this time, but if you call the real estate companies during the week before you want to go, some will negotiate a nightly rental. After the middle of August, the rates go down, and you may be surprised how reasonably you can rent a place for the whole...More
We are a group of 7 families who spend spring break together each year. This year we were in North Litchfield Beach (which was great!) and are looking at Hilton Head for next year (first week in April 2013). None of us have been to HHI before. I think the North Forest Beach area looks like the best fit for our diverse group. We need good beach access, bike paths, walking to pubs/ice cream, and the beach volleyball/tiki bar looks great. Since I don't know the area I am trying to find...More

Given your needs, I would recommend you contact a management company, rather than trying to surf the internet. There are so many companies here on the island. Here are just a few: resort rentals, Hilton Head rentals and Golf, Vacation Company, Island getaway, Goode vacation rentals. Each do have a website where you can peruse the listings, but you may want to call directly as they know their inventory well and can probably find you houses closer to each other with greater ease. And, it is...More
