Spa Pamper Package
My partner and I came here for a pamper package and we had a very pleasant experience. We were made to feel very welcomed and comfortable from the two therapists who also did a fantastic job, and the small but quaint leisure facilities were nice to use. A special thanks to Andrew who served us our afternoon tea and also ensured that we had everything we needed, as well as providing fantastic service.

I would recommend this place for any looking for a relaxing spa day.

Lovely time
Aug 2017 • Couples
Myself and my partner had been bought an experience package as an engagement present and we used it here. We thought it was just for a facial and back, neck and shoulder massage but when we arrived our therapists offered alternatives and upgrades which was a lovely surprise. I had a 50 minute facial which included a neck, chest and shoulder massage and my partner opted for the 25 minute facial and 25 minute back, neck and shoulder massage. I think the treatments were actually a little shorter than that but they didn't feel like they were cut short and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. They asked lots of questions to make sure that the treatments were as we wanted. The therapists were lovely and made sure that we knew where to go for our afternoon tea and how to find the pool and jacuzzi once it was over

Those facilities were OK but a little small (they are technically owned by someone else, but I wanted to put this here as an FYI for people who are visiting and intend to use them). They are in a different section of the hotel to the spa for treatments but we had our afternoon tea in between so it didn't really matter and we got dressed to move through the hotel.

The Escape Spa itself was lovely and I was would happily recommend it to a friend or buy them the same experience that we had.

Review of Spa
I was treated to a massage and facial for my birthday here. This is my first visit it here and sadly will be my last. When we arrived at the spa there was just a sign to say the therapists were busy and to take a seat in the waiting room which is not signposted or particularly easy to find as it has a curtain across the window which makes you think it's another treatment room. Once we eventually found this room we completed our documents and waited for our therapists until ten minutes after our treatments were due to start. Finally our back massage begins and we are in one treatment room which normally I do not mind but this time the therapists were mouthing to each and gesticulating as my lady kept taking her hands off me mid massage. I feel I ought to also mention the towels felt dirty as they had an oily, wet feel to them and the massage bed which you spend a fair amount of time looking at through the whole in the table was filthy. This is the first time I have left a spa without leaving a gratuity but in all honestly I didn't feel they deserved it. A lesson in spa etiquette was more in need. I will not return.

Had a back massage and facial with Sophie. She was very courteous and was very helpful. Products are all natural and smell lovely. I felt really relaxed afterwards. Great experience that I would highly recommend.

Shame about my visit
I paid for 2 treatments each for myself and my friend after my husband bought me a Groupon gift a few months ago. I was so pleased with my treatments back in July I was happy to do the same thing again for myself and my friend for her birthday treat.
I was disappointed in arriving we were left waiting for 10 mins even though they had said they were ready for us. Once in the shared room I thought the experience was going to be relaxing but it was nothing like the last time. My friend had a facial and nails and the girl who was doing her treatment was in so much of a rush it was borderline rude. My massage was more like being tickled even though i asked her for a little bit more pressure??

It felt like as we were the last appointment of the day (6pm) they wanted to get us in and get us out!! I felt so upset for my friend as this was her birthday treatment and she wasn't relaxed just felt an inconvenience! I did mention something to the girl on reception regarding staff as I was really hoping for the other lady who had done my last treatment but she was too interested in doing her make up as she was going out with her friends that evening. Even managed to tell me that they are so relaxed their that she will come in late with a hangover tomorrow and they would be fine with it....
After the disappointing experience the last thing I wanted to do was part with £80 but I felt embarrassed for my friend as it was her birthday!!

I am sorry to say but I would not recommend this SPA which is a shame as the previous girl was fantastic hence why I went back for more treatments. I do feel like I have been ripped off and not a happy customer at all

Best massage around
Oct 2016 • Solo
I have been here twice now for two different packages and both times have been amazing. Becky and Ferne are both friendly, professional and welcoming. I have visited many many beauty salons but I think this one is by far the best.

"Spa" experience - not!
Sep 2015 • Friends
I attended with friends on 16th October 2015. The treatment (facial and massage) was professionally delivered but there were some significant issues with the general organisation of the experience and layout of the facilities which made the overall experience very poor.

We attended for a treatment and use of the pool etc - the pool/gym complex appears to be managed by a different company (Living Well). This meant that the experience was not joined up as there is clearly no communication beween the two facilities. Our friends who arrived later while we were having treatments were not told to go to the pool first as we had asked, so wasted an hour in the waiting room at Escape. The worst part was having to walk from the treatment room at Escape to the Living Well complex through hotel reception in our dressing gowns, no make up, hair all over the place!!!! Totally inappropriate!!!! Signage was poor and we were almost at the Mediterranean Restaurant before we realised we had come too far and had to ask where the pool was. This is just not acceptable.

The treatment room was a double that I had to share with my friend, there was no single option and this had not been made clear on booking. It was not private and not relaxing as the therapist discussing treatment with my friend was distracting and I could not relax, also there were workmen walking past the room and talking. It all felt very public and made a mockery of the relaxing music that was being played in the room! As it was clearly a hotel bedroom that was being used as a therapy room I don't understand why two rooms could not be made available. This would be more efficient as it would mean that if there were strangers booked in at the same time, they could both be treated - as it is, only one at a time could be treated unless the ladies are friends, as we were. I asked to go to the loo after my treatment and was directed - in my dressing gown - to a public hotel toilet. There was only one cubicle and a queue so I had to walk down to another public hotel toilet down the corridor. Why is there not a private toilet facility at Escape?

The Living Well complex was ok but the Jacuzzi was not working which was disappointing.

The poor facilities and layout mean I would not return; the issues I have described need serious attention by management and could so easily be addressed with minor adjustments and a customer focussed ethos that was so clearly missing.

In contrast, the Mediterranean Restaurant where we had our afternoon tea was superb; staff could not have been more helpful, the food was superb and we were able to spend a relaxing two hours here without being rushed.
