Everyone is welcome at Silvermere. The beautiful surroundings, challenging golf course, friendly Bistro, award winning golf store, impeccable wedding and conference facilitates and informal atmosphere all combine to make you feel relaxed and welcome. The Silvermere Privilege Card links all these facilities together and incredibly we’re just 5 minutes from the M25 and A3.The tree-lined golf course at Silvermere is a true test of golf located in the heart of Surrey. The first six holes are sure to get the pulse racing with tight fairways, challenging approaches and great views. However, the course is probably most renowned for the 17th and 18th holes which are played over Silvermere Lake. Silvermere, however, really should be better known for its former use as the site where Barnes Wallis tested his famous Dambuster bouncing bomb. In the film and more recent TV documentaries you may recall scenes where Barnes Wallis used a huge catapult to fire mini prototypes across a lake to test whether they should use forward or back spin, a spherical or cylindrical shape or a smooth or dimpled surface. These tests were all conducted on Silvermere Lake, so if you stick the ball in the drink on the 17th or 18th just put it down to scientific endeavour and be consoled by the thought that your ball has joined other valuable objects in the water. The 18th hole finishes into a semi-island green that has been recently re-built, offering a spectacular finishing hole. For players there is the thrill of hitting over the lake onto the island target. For the visitors enjoying the Inn on the Lake there is always the hope of watching another ball confined to a watery grave. The course was designed by Neil Coles and Brian Hugget and opened for play in 1976. Whilst it is not a long course by modern standards, the combination of tree lined fairways and the succession of water holes makes it a particularly challenging course. Playing to your handicap is a real achievement at Silvermere.

Played Golf...The staff were very helpful and informative and even though we were not members or regulars we were treated very well The course itself was in great condition and a good challenge When we finished we had drinks on the patio overlooking the lake ..which was fabulous..the only issue was we had to wait longer than I would like... Nice to sit outside by the lake and have lunch. Food is good quality and not overly expensive, although service can be a little slow when busy.

Spent a wonderful day at Silvermere. Handled 16 of us for match play. Excellent warm up facilities. Course marshal was very nice. Half way house was brilliant cuppa and sausage roll. Great service post match and good carvery. We visit from Belgium every second year and are not disappointed.

A worn out driver (the club, not the reviewer!) replaced with a new one. Excellent advice and help and a session that lasted an hour. Prices slightly higher than a shop or Net but then there's no advice there! Recommended and a good lot of clothing on offer.

It's not a place for a gastronomy tasting, the food is just enough to calm your hunger after playing 18 holes. Gorgeous view on the lake, a stunning place for the golfers and family

I've been a member of clubs in the area but Silvermere is absolutely fabulous! Fantastic greens and tranquil settings! Great for the family! Keep me out of the shop as it's probably the best in Surrey!

As golf courses go, they tend to be in a lively green setting with lots of space. Silvermere offers this in abundance. The course is great to play, the new driving range is state of the art, the food is good and eating outside overlooking the water is awesome. Prices for 100 balls is a bit on the higher end... More
