We were sold this party for my 7 year old daughter. I asked several times upon booking if it would hurt the children and was told that no it would not. By the end of the first round, I had a group of young children crying and injured. Some were bruised and one had been shot by another party member at point blank range before she had even been handed her weapon by the staff. As a result her finger split and was bleeding and swollen and she could not even partake in any games. The kids were all shooting each other in the so called ‘safe zones’ and supervision was non-existent. In a nutshell, it was carnage. If I knew the children would get hurt I would never have booked this party. But I was constantly reassured during booking that they would not be hurt. The company didn’t accept any responsibility, even when they were faced with bruised and bleeding children. I was told by one marshal ‘what do I expect they’re getting shot’. The duty of care was terrible. I have no doubt that this would be fun for teenagers but I do not recommend it for young children. Attached is a photo of one of the injuries sustained by the children.

My husband and I booked Deltaforce Upminster for our son"s 9th birthday party. We were told that it was fine for 9 year olds and we would be matched up with similar aged kids. My sons team were paired up with 2 other parties of the same age as the blue team. However we were competing against the green team, which consisted of much older kids and 6 or 7 adults. At various times during the morning games my husband pointed out that the teams were very uneven with the green team winning all the games easily. After lunch we asked if the boys wanted to carry on and they did so we bought more paintballs at a ridiculously exspensive rate. The afternoon games were nothing short of a masacre. For some unknown reason we only had 1 Marshall instead of the 2 we had for the morning. The last game was described by the completely incompetent Marshall as "a bit of fun" in which if you got shot you could just carry on. This resulted in the blue team getting constantly shot at and injured by the green team despite being shouting at to stop. My husband walked the blue team out to the "dead zone" where they were still being shot at. We had several 8 and 9 year old children injured and crying while the idiot marshal did nothing. When my husband came back to the base camp he was very angry and asked to speak to the manager who just walked away from him during his complaint. He has since emailed a complaint and received nothing in response. The duty of care shown to these children was non existent.

Visited here today with 20 of us, mixture of teenagers and adults and had a great day despite the appalling weather. We had bought the tickets on offer and had 100 each to start and then decided to purchase the paintballs in boxes of 2000 and each player had 500 which lasted them the day, sometimes they ran out during a game but overall we managed, a few of the players bought extras but we felt it was a good day for the what we spent, was staff were excellent all round and everyone agreed it was a great day, only gripe was the goggles misted up really quickly and were a bit of a pain but would definitely do it again soon.

Myself and a group of friends visited Delta Force paintball in August and we were disgusted by our experience. At the end of our first game of the day, another group decided to start shooting people including me approx two minutes after the end of the game. This was witnessed by marshals who confiscated their paintball guns and gave them a warning. This aggravated the offending group a lot. Once we got back to the “safe zone” this group threatened to stab a number of members of our group, smash up our cars in the car park and have a group waiting for us when we left to “beat us up”. This was all witnessed by a number of independent parties. All of this occurred in-front of young children and families. We immediately reported this to the centre manager who initially took little action. We refused to continue while this group were still allowed to take part and ultimately called the police fearing for our safety. Despite all the above infractions, witnessed by both staff and other customers, the management refused to remove any member of their group from the centre. While waiting for the police to arrive we ended up talking to a more reasonable member of their group and upon them learning that the police were on their way, the two worst offenders of their group agreed to leave the centre on the condition that we did not further involve the police. As a result of all of the above, we ended up missing two out of our six games for the day as well as having a third ruined. Paintballs that were bought for the day at the standard overpriced prices, consequently went to waste. I would like to reiterate that despite clear rule breaking, making threats against other customers lives and property, no member of the offending group was made to leave by centre staff. They intended to keep them on in a separate game for the remainder of the game, clearly happy to run the risk of them carrying out their threats in exchange for the paintballs they would buy for the rest of the day. This whole situation stinks of the centre putting financial gain above the safety of their customers. This is not an environment I would ever return to or bring my children to in the future. All of the above was stated in an official complaint to the delta force website. Any refunds for the loss of game time/paintballs/a terrible experience were outright refused. We were only offered free entry on our next visit (value equivalent to approx £10 per person). Again, they are willing to take the £10 hit in order to bring people in to buy the necessary £50/£60 minimum in paintballs each for the day. There are no lack of paintball centres in the area. I would highly recommend attending one that prioritises your safety above paintball sales.

Thank you for your review, Stephen, This was a very unfortunate situation at the centre and was investigated by Customer Service. Our staff members can only take action on what they have seen themselves and will deduct points for minor things, separate the group if necessary and then remove players from the centre as a last resort. Based on what the staff had seen it was decided to first attempt to sperate the groups. I am sorry that you feel like the situation was not dealt with at the time correctly. Safety is a priority for us and we have many players attending our centres every week including young players with no incidents and most have a great time and often return. I do hope that you reconsider and join us for the kind of day we are known for. Kind regards, Delta Force Paintball

My 12 year old son, two of his friends, myself and his mate's Dad visited on one of the hottest days in August. The initial entry wasn't too promising as the staff weren't that helpful and it was a little chaotic. Once in though it turned out to be really well ran. Once through the main gates, you collect your protective equipment (full face/helmet, overalls and body armour and pouch belt thing for keeping your stuff in). You're then fleeced for money. £80 for 1000 paintballs, £2 for a locker etc. You may think 1000 paintballs is a lot. They aren't! Between 5 of us and without going silly we went through 4000 paintballs. Honestly, that was being very controlled. When it came to the games, it got way better! You go through a gate where your helmet (face guard) must be down at all times, no excuses. You're issued a gun and have chance to test it - make sure you test it as sometimes they play up. There are several 'maps' and each is different. My favourite was the speedball (it's basically an over size football court with barriers to hide behind). We were teamed against a team of much younger children so had to take it easy - it would have been better for more competition. Overall, it was really good but VERY expensive (we spent over £200 in paintballs in the end). I'd give this 4 stars if it weren't for being ripped off for the paintballs.

Thank you for your review. We are glad that you had a great time at the centre. Should you decide to return for another game day, we do have some more inclusive packages that you can book to bring the price down. Kind regards, Delta Force Paintball
