- RailwayGirlDaventry, United Kingdom29 contributionsLovely countryside park, dinosaur trail.Visited east Carlton park twice in the summer holidays with a little girl (4). We had a lot of fun feeding the ducks, visiting the cafe, playing in the play area and doing the dinosaur trail (how good was this that you could take pictures with the children and dinosaurs). Would recommend and visit again. I understand covid is still on going but indoor seating would be welcome especially when the weather takes a turn for the worse.Visited August 2021Traveled with familyWritten September 5, 2021
- Francis CLymington, United Kingdom785 contributionsGreat place for a winter's walkVisiting friends in the area, we decided to take a drive around the villages we once knew well from a time when we lived and worked in Northamptonshire. Our first stop was at East Carleton Country Park. Although it was not a school holiday, the popularity of the venue was obvious from the many cars parked, made more acute because the wet conditions meant the the grass areas were not available for parking. No matter, we squeezed into a parking slot and started off by a visit to the tea room. The ambience of the tea room was a bit lacking in charm, and the food looked a bit lonely, sat on hot plates. There were cakes and a few biscuits, but overall they are currently missing a trick in the attractiveness of the tea rooms. It did look as if some of it had been recently upgraded, and other parts were seemingly still midst repair, but even so, I felt more of an effort could easily be made. The park itself is extensive. Quite a few goodish paths means that the worst of the mud, on a wet day, can be avoided. The tracks are slightly undulating, without being testing, There are ducks (and gulls) to feed, on a pond, and a play area for children. There are some interesting bits of old machinery from the steelworks heyday, including a giant bucket from a drag crane, used for collecting iron ore.Sadly the demands of health and safety prevent youngsters climbing around these, which at one time would have been quite acceptable. But nice walks, lots of spring flowers, and time well spent and enjoyed. Well worth a visit, with glorious views of adjacent countryside.Visited March 2020Written March 7, 2020
- mickkaren1231Corby, United Kingdom382 contributionsExcellent park with free parking.Great park with a couple of short walking routes within the park, but there is an option for something longer if that's what you want. There is ample grassed areas for picnics, kicking a ball around etc and a play park for the kids. There are some old steel works equipment from the old steel works at Corby, but no plaques to let you know what their task entailed which is a bit of a shame. There is a small museum however with more information. The park has a cafe with ample seating inside and out and has a good selection of food, drink and ice creams. The parking here is FREE! Something very rare these days. I would highly recommend East Carlton Park.Visited July 2023Traveled with familyWritten August 5, 2023
- charlotte056Sandown, United Kingdom432 contributionsGreat morning outFirstly there was plenty of parking, albeit very muddy. We did the story teller trail. The children found it great fun, making up their own stories and looking for the next clue. The park was very busy with walker’s, runners, families and well behaved dogs with their owners. The inclusive playground was brilliant and the cafe was very reasonable, and the staff were great. We loved the snowdrops everywhere. All in all a lovely visit.Visited January 2020Traveled with familyWritten January 26, 2020

The heritage centre and cafe have lots to offer the visitor all year round. Netherfield views across the valley and surrounding countryside are so inviting. - Ann C4 contributionsOk for an hour or two.Not very big if you are looking for a long walk within the park. Good facilities and play area for young children. Plenty of dog litter bins although some disgusting people still seemingly refuse to use them. Cafe still closed for inside use since 17/05/2021 despite the poor weather. Still takeaway only???Visited May 2021Traveled as a coupleWritten May 25, 2021
- sarah jNorthampton, United Kingdom38 contributionsLovely few hours out.Lovely park. Fab little shop with such nice people serving and helping. I bought some really nice and very reasonably-priced plants there - that was a real bonus. The walk we did followed a 'story' through the woods. The kids loved it - every now and then you'd stop at a plaque and read another chapter. So much fine, and a lovely family walk in fab surroundings. And didn't even have to pay to park.Visited April 2022Written April 5, 2022
- Balazs KadarCorby, United Kingdom862 contributionsHidden green parkNice and clean public park, open to everybody, not private territory. If you want chill and walk quiet place. Have little tale if you follow the path and read the signs with small satues. Have small lake with ducks. Not problem if you go around with a bycicle it's good for me 😊. Good to the families and friends picnic. (just clean after yourself).Visited June 2020Traveled soloWritten June 23, 2020

Almost hard to believe that it's run by the local council and is a credit to them and there staff. Children's play area, which is enclosed and benches so you can keep an eye on them. Ample parking. Just a lovely place to clear the mind.Visited September 2021Traveled with familyWritten April 6, 2022

The children enjoyed the play area. Although they got covered in sand. Do bring spades and buckets if they want to dig etc.
The cafe was fine to get icecream from. No idea about food. The country park is straight up the A427 and easy to find. Parking is free and main entrance is never locked. Website says 5:00pm as do signs.
The walk around was fine, children enjoyed spotting the Pokémon wooden figures. Other than that they got bored.
It’s ok for a few hours but not much more.

A lovely couple of hours walking around this beautiful park. The coronavirus is not going to stop me going out to get fresh air. Never been here before. Need to find out about the story trail. Took so many photos, so inspired as I have a brilliant imagination. Deffo be back.

Yes there is a cafe. They have indoor and outdoor seating.
Where is the entrance and is it open on Wednesdays

If coming from Corby you pass the park on the right hand turn down the road on the right, if coming the other way take the left turn - this is the same road, follow it right down and the entrance is on the right...and yes it's open every day.

Can you camp here? My little boy wants to try camping, thought maybe a little trip here on a Saturday night as a test might be a good idea?

Is it possible to run around the park? I'm looking to do 5-10K? Thanks!
