I would like to point out that the memorial you refer to above is the David Stirling Memorial which sits between Doune and Dunblane, and not David Sterling.
Sir David Robert Sterling KCB (born 7 March 1958 is a Northern Irish civil servant.
David Stirling is from lecropt in Stirling and the founder of the SAS.

A striking memorial to an exceptional individual and to the SAS troops who achieved so much with great skill and bravery. His childhood home is nearby. Wonderful views of the Highlands and a well kept site with spacious car park. Detailed 'CV' of David Stirling.

A monument to an iconic man who founded the iconic SAS units of the British Army. It's a bit out of the way, but if you're travelling between Dunblane and Doune, it's worth a stop, especially as there's a car park that could accommodate 10+ cars.

We stopped here as we were driving by to see this beautiful statue if colonel David stirling in a stunning location (Bridge of allan not dunblane as address above says)
David stirling was the founder of the special Air service and was a keen mountaineer.
Seems to be a popular place for dog walkers but it has the one of the worst carparks I've seen, it was a tight squeeze with people parking anywhere and in all directions, as no designated spaces, so don't go in if it looks busy as there's nowhere to turn!

This wonderful memorial sits so well in the lovely countryside. I think the best view is heading from Doune towards the M9 junction

This Statue to David Stirling founder of the SAS sits at the side of the B824 halfway between Dunblane and Doune. There are Plaques surrounding the statue which list the fallen SAS men of WW2. There can be fewer peaceful spots to contemplate what this man and his men achieved. Worth a short detour on your way North

A massive fan of the regiment and it’s history so it only felt right to pop in and pay homage to the man.

A beautiful bronze statue situated in the Scotish countryside. Very quite meditative type place. Is a wonderful place to make pictures of the Scotish countryside meadows, and mountains in the distance

Our taxi driver took us to see this because it was on the way back into town - no extra charge! Beautiful bronze sculpture, and you can see how cleverly it was cast to give the illusion of cloth. Also, David has an interesting expression on his face. If in the area, stop by.
