    Great fun for families
I came here on Saturday 10th of April 2021 with my wife and 2 year old son. The park has has a children's zoo, tropical glasshouse, ornamental gardens, nature trails, adventure & toddler Play areas, Gift shop, Café, exhibition gallery and a Golf Course! We went to the zoo and adventure & toddler Play areas. The zoo is small and only has some small animals but it's great for under 5's and very cheap to get in. The adventure park has one of the biggest slides I've ever seen and my son went flying down it even though he's only 2 and absolutely loved it!

    Hidden gem
The courtyard cafe has always been a favourite but being opened during lockdown is honestly a saviour. From the staff to the quality of coffee and cakes, every element is simply great. A little hidden gem in the middle of the country park. I’m writing this to show my appreciation to the friendly faces serving up some warm food and drinks after long local walks. Thank you to all the staff for cheering us up, serving with a smile during hard times and keeping open for us to find enjoyment from the little things that matter. Well done 👏🏼 x

    Lovely park
Lovely park to go to with the kids. Play area is well kept as are the grass areas. Beautiful stream/waterfall with a shallow area for the kids/dogs to play. Small zoo is maintained to a high standard, snacks available to purchase when buying tickets. Will definitely bring the children back

Visited last week with family for the first time in years - queue for zoo rather long but to be expected with all that's going on right now. Kids enjoyed seeing the animals but upon leaving the zoo we needed access to a toilet, only to be told we would have to queue to get into the zoo again as only toilets were inside zoo! Portaloos on sight but not in use. Good value for money but toilet situation an issue.
Decided to have lunch in the park as there was a lovely outdoor seating area in the castle grounds so take away available with lots of seating which was a nice surprise. Opted for a belly busting breakfast roll which was huge and certainly hit the spot. Kids lunch boxes were of a good size and great value for money - kids also impressed with their "magical 7 flavour slushies" and the lady serving was more than happy to accommodate the kids fussy requests of what flavors they wanted in what order - Would return!

Waited over 30 minutes for food to be served. Only 12 other adults (5 tables) in cafe plus 6 children - quiet. 2staff. We had to wait because they didn't have enough soup bowls and cutlery and had to put them through the machine!
My grandson had completely finished his box before his chicken mayo sandwich arrived.
Box is good value.
Soup on the cold side but tasty.

Poorly Signposted. Divertions everywhere. Did not end up going. Sign posts further down then nothing as you pass by at Carrigans. If they want people to visit even during Covid 19 then properly signpost it. Clearly stating the entrance. Is it too much to ask.

Iv just seen this is under new management ,husband and I decide to have a coffee after our walk and all I can say it will be the last £8.60 for 2 coffees and 1 empire biscuit , I do not mind paying for good coffee or good baking but really !!! so if your a young family maybe thinking about lunch ... pack your own . Young girl serving was lovely tho ... such a shame .

Park , zoo and nature trails lovely and definitely worth a visit . The courtyard cafe , well where do I begin . Lovely outdoor seating area . Placed order and given a number ticket to collect order. My number was called and the young man said "oh be careful the box is very hot" wow no kidding I couldn't even hold it . Was chips n cheese . These were inedible as was deep fried frozen chips , cheap rubber orange cheese microwaved on High for a considerable time , the chips were a solid lump , not even a fork would catch them . Expensive disgusting food , a picnic is required .

A fantastic park, with a. Great play area, on a hot day it can be extra busy! They also have a little zoo, for a small entrance fee. Loads of tables and picnic areas to be had, highly recommend this park for family day out. Loads to explore

It's a great country park, I'm not great at steps or stairs and I can walk slowly around and totally not use steps once. They have considered everyone's needs from very fit to disabled. It's kept in wonderful condition and I recommend you try the courtyard cafe for a drink or even a toastie, lots on offer there. Friendly staff from the cafe to the wardens.

Great day out with 19 month old granddaughter. She loved the animals and the parks although it was a bit too cold the day went to spend much time outside. The dog loved the walk she had while Sophie and I went to the cafe. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the selection of cakes was lovely. The only thing that let it down was the disabled/baby changing toilet in the cafe. It wasn't as clean as it could've been

I take my 11 year old son here occasionally with our dogs. We have visited the small animals centre and mamaged to spend almost an hour watching the Birds and Meercats without realising. This is excelent value for money.

The playpark is sited at the top of a grassy slope overlooking a field that is excelent for dog exersize or ball games. Just beyond that is a footpath along the river that predominantly keeps you inder the woodland canopy and follows the river glen.

Love the zoo, it's so cheap to get in and the enclosures are all really good - the animals are very well cared for. The surrounding walks in the country park are great also, so many different routes to go for a woodland walk. Single adult, no kids! Still love the zoo and walks after years of going on multiple occasions.
