A small rather dirty beach. Maybe it will be cleaner in the summer, but it is not worth the visit in general. There are many cafés and restaurants around it, and Bay Street Shoping Complex is nearby.

I can imagine this beach in summer as I expect it would be totally crowded and alive with holiday makers an locals. Plenty of nearby bars and restuarants and a wide selection of accommodation is near by.

St George's Bay has a rather scrubby, dirty-looking stretch of sand that passes for a beach, and for the life of me I can't understand why anyone would want to spend any time sitting on it. We were staying at Spinola Bay and wandered through...More

moral between 10h till 18h (6 Replies)
It comes that ethics and moral in Malta are only running from 10am till 6pm. In St. George bay is not allowed to drink alcohol on the beach between 1am and 6am, and from 10am till 6pm topless is not allowed. So... the happy hours in Malta are from 6pm till 10am and again from 6pm till 1am. In this country of extrange ethics and rules there is a happy hour to do everything you want. Amazing... we are in Europe just to keep habits, culture and rules when the country is not loosing money!

Where did you hear all this rubbish !! Topless bathing is not allowed at any time. Don`t understand what you are saying about happy hours ---- some bars have them but not to the hours you mention. Malta is a very moral country ---- don`t comprehend what you`re saying ! ! Graham.

Distance from airport (3 Replies)
Has anyone any idea of the distance from the airport to The Intercontinental Apartments at Eden Place, St Georges Bay, please? Also if we don't hire a car what would be the best and cheapest method of doing the journey - two pensioners + 1 x 8 year old child? Would it be better to hire a car and if so any recommendations of companies please. Many thanks in advance.

A taxi from the airport , paid for at the taxi stand in the arrivals lounge , will cost you about 15 euros and the journey will take about 20 minutes or so. The cheapest way would be to catch the bus but that would require a walk from the bus stop to the hotel --- not a good idea with luggage. You could hire a car at the airport and then find your way to the hotel but parking might be a problem. My suggestion , for what it`s worth , is to take a taxi to your hotel --- to the door...More

Can anyone give me an idea of general costs to expect, mainly on local Beer and a decent 2 course meal. I understand there will be varying prices but looking for an idea of the average.
