A lovely stroll to this pretty little beach with great restaurants. Not many shops for tourists to enjoy but those that there are worth a visit.

Spinola bay is a very attractive horseshoe shaped area in the St Juliens district of Malta. It has some good nightlife and various good places to eat.

This is an interesting but overbuilt bay area with many good restaurants some of which you can sit outside

We walked here from the Hilton Malta - took about 15 minutes - to dine in one of the waterfront restaurants at night. The view is beautiful with all the lights at night.

A small bay with a few fishing boats in it. Completely surrounded by less than picturesque buildings & the odd cafe. Worth passing through only

Very picturesque bay in Paceville (Saint Julian's). There are many restaurants and hotels around, and there is a nice Christmas decoration on Christmas. Evening is very peaceful and convenient for a walk - it's safe.

It is just so beautiful walking around and sitting in the sunshine. I love watching the fish in the crystal clear waters as well so this is heaven for me.

Our first visit to Malta, so not sure about the resort until arrived. Found it quite noisy, but Spinola Bay was enchanting, especially with the Christmas lights.

Balluta Bay is also OK for swimming and snorkelling. Somewhere arount St. Julian's Hotel there's a centre where you can rent the equipment. Look for the pool where the polo team trains, is right in the front of St. Julian's... More

Penthouse @ Cloisters Way, Spinola Bay (3 Replies)
Has anyone stayed at the penthouse in Cloisters Walk, Spinola Bay. It is advertised on Holiday Lettings by a very helpful gentlemen Graham? These look fab and just what we want but have never had experience of booking for an apt direct or should I say through Holiday Lettings as we would always do it through a hotel or a travel agent/booking site, so was just looking for some reassurance before handing over £. I feel a bit guilty doing so as the contact seems lovely and is so helpful but...More

Ten days in April - first trip - some questions please (8 Replies)
Hi experts. After reading lots of forum posts, my husband and I are seriously considering a stylish apartment in Spinola Bay as our Malta base. We would want to use public transport to get around the sights. Is Spinola Bay OK for that? Will the buses be ridiculously full by the time they get to our stop? Some posts suggest that standing room only is not unusual. We're fit and active seniors but not keen on strap-hanging for long distances! How long will it take us to get into Valletta...More

There are plenty of buses going by Spinola Bay . Some may be full , some not but of course many people will get off in Sliema --- and others get on ,but seats usually soon become available . You won`t have to wait for more than a few minutes to get a bus. The journey to Valletta from Spinola Bay will take about 25 minutes or so. Not a bad journey. By the way , Spinola Bay is a lovely place to stay . Malta`s national poet , Dun Karm , had a house overlooking the bay and said...More

Kid friendly restaurants (10 Replies)
Hi All Staying at Radisson Blu St Julians for the next week. Can anyone recommend any kid friendly restaurants locally? We ate at Henry J Beans tonight which was ok... but headed into Paceville this afternoon and it seemed quite seedy. I like the look of Spinola Bay if anyone knows anything down there?! Kids are 5 and 8. Thanks.

You're correct in your assessment of Paceville - it's not somewhere to take the kids! Anywhere else in St Julians is fine, or along the front around to Sliema. I can't think of any restaurant which isn't family friendly. Actually The Avenue - which is only a stone's throw from Paceville - always seems to have lots of families eating there.
