I had a brilliant first diving experience with Divewise. I felt welcomed by the team both while I was in the UK corresponding with Viv via email, and when I arrived at the dive centre on Saturday. I was really impressed with the level of organisation when I arrived at the centre, we were kitted up in no time. I was also impressed with the quality of the kit we were given (i’ve been used to holes in wetsuits when I’ve hired them before but at Divewise there isn’t a hole in sight!). Sarah was a fantastic instructor. With it being my first ever dive I was slightly apprehensive, but Sarah made me feel at ease and went through in detail what to expect before we got in the water. While we were in the water Sarah was great at communicating what I needed to do and I felt unexpectedly calm under the water. The water was really clear so we saw lots of fish an an Ocotpus! I would highly recommend Divewise to beginners and I hope to return in the future.

My SO, sister and I went to Malta to dive for 5 days. My SO and I would take 10 dives during the 5 days, while my sister would take the Open Water certificate the first three days, followed by 2 days of diving with us. Everybody we met at Divewise were so friendly and helpful. The first three days we dived together with Lisa as dive master. My SO and I have not been diving a lot in our past, even though we are certified Advanced divers, so we were both a bit insecure before our first dive. Lisa made us feel completely safe by first going through some basic diving skills with us, to evaluate where we were at. Afterwards, we just had fun with our dives and socialising in between dives! The last two days my SO and I were diving with dive instructor Jarek, which also was a pleasure.
My sister unfortunately was not able to dive the last three days, since she got an ear infection. First, we thought it was harmless and that she only had a bit of water in her ear. However, after consulting with her dive instructor Jarek and the owner Viv, she was advised not to dive before consulting a doctor, and it turned out, that was a good call, since she had to take antibiotics and not dive, so that she would be ready for our flight home. Even though she wasn’t able to dive, she was always welcomed to drive out to the dive sites together with us and explore the area on-land at the different sites. It was just really nice to feel that you were always in good and safe hands with Divewise, so that you could focus on learning and having fun with diving! We will definitely recommend Divewise to others going diving on Malta, and we will definitely go diving with Divewise again if we return to Malta some day. Thank you especially to Lisa, Jarek and Viv for 5 great days of diving!

I signed up to do a beginners course together with my boyfriend do was doing a certification. Unfortunately it wasn’t a good experience. We were promised that I’d be starting in a pool first which I felt was very reassuring since I was going diving for the first time. But once we arrived at the center, it seemed like we were about to be driven somewhere as the gear was being put into several trucks. Nobody told us where we were going. It was chaos and poor communication. It turned out we were being taken to a dive site next to the ferry in Cirkewwa. It was clear at that point that there was going to be no pool diving and we were going to be getting straight into the sea down a couple of stairs. I felt like that was a particularly bad setup for a complete beginner like me. I wasn’t going to see anything particularly interesting underwater since we would only go a few meters deep and at the same time I immediately had to deal with waves and being sloshed around with all the diving gear. My instructor Sarah saw me struggle with the waves and immediately concluded that I wasn’t going to make it and that I had to step out of the water. She was also a bit rude; it felt like she was angry that she had to step out of the water with me. I also felt disappointed that they separated me and my boyfriend. Even though he was doing a certification and I wasn’t, the first part of his course was exactly the same as mine. His instructor Jarek also wasn’t particularly friendly. In the beginning he literally said ‘shoo’ to me when I sat down next to my boyfriend at the five center to let me know that I had another instructor. All in all not a good experience and because we didn’t practice in a pool as we were promised, I didn’t really get to experience diving at all.

A very well run centre in a great location. Vivian was excellent in communicating even before I arrived in country, but she went above and beyond when I asked if it was possible to dive the beaufighter one morning. Not an easy task with the amount of people, but Viv managed to sort an early morning dive with just me and the dive leader and it turned out to be my favourite dive to date. The shuttle services went smoothly and all the staff are fantastic. I hope to return as soon as I can!

Viv and her team were very professional, and welcoming. I had had some problems in the UK with diving, which I explained to Viv, she arranged for me to go out on a pre-dive with an instructor in the bay opposite the dive centre a couple of days later. My instructor on the day was Howard,
