This will be your favorite stop in Douro. Amazing wine tasting at a family owned boutique winery with knowledgeable staff (thank you Eric!), breathtaking views, delicious and reasonably priced wines done in traditional method. The winery offers a range port and standard wines, giving you the chance to taste a range of possibilities from Duoro.

The drive to the top of the hill where Quinta do Beijo is located, is very picturesque and exactly the type of imagery that will stay with you long after your trip to Duoro finishes. Eric, our host, has worked in wine in New Zealand, and grew up in the wine business in California and has been working with Portuguese wines for some time. He is very knowledgeable and can go as technical as you would like or keep it light and fun. We really enjoyed hearing about his perspective on the Portuguese wine industry. He was an excellent host.

We also enjoyed the wine. The whites were aromatic, acidic, very approachable. The ports were a highlight as well, especially the aged ones. Seeing how the winery still practices traditional methods of crushing grapes with your feet during harvest, was very special.

As a former wine importer, I look for quality in the wine, stories, passion, uniqueness, pride in the product and traditions, a sense of place and purpose and I found this at Quinta do Beijo.

This would be a memorable tour, especially if you have Eric as your guide.

Quinta do Beijo was one of our first stops in the Douro Valley and was a fabulous place to start. We had an excellent tour from João who was very funny, charming and informative. Lovely to hear about the mix of modern and traditional techniques used and the family history of the business going back 5 generations!! The DOC wines were really lovely and very reasonably priced (we bought a reserva for €7!) and the port was sensational. You can taste the love that the family has for their craft! We felt so welcome and comfortable which is so important in Covid times and João even booked us a table at a local restaurant he recommended near our hostel! Thank you so much Quinta do Beijo - a real highlight of our stay in Portugal so far - don’t miss it!

Visited Quinta do Beijo as part of a private tour and was very pleased with the level of service provided by those at the winery. We arrived very late in the evening and one of the family members took us through the tasting rooms on a tour and tastings. It was great being the only two (plus our tour guide) as it allowed us to ask a lot of questions and take our time sampling the ports and wines. Eventually we ended up in the sales room (of course buying some wines) and just chatting with the family members. Excellent place to visit and great ports/wines.

Joao, fifth generation in this port-making family vineyard, gave us our reserved tour of the winery and talked of its history. Personal, passionate, and we got samples and chocolates (made with Quinta do Beijo ports). I got three bottles of their white port, the likes of which I'd never tasted before

Had one of the best experience ever. For someone used to wine tours, this one was unique. João's enthusiasm brought the tour to another level. He is so funny and passionate, we loved discovering his family's heritage and enjoyed trying all these wines (actually drinking one of his bottles while typing this, but I swear not biased). I would recommend visiting the Quinta do Beijo to anyone in the area.

We were received by one of the sons in the owners family. So friendly and polite. We got a very interesting tour despite we just showed up. We tasted the wines very good and had a very interesting conversation with the son. Seldom have we meet such a positive atmosphere. It can strongly be recommended including the wines.

Loved the tour at "Beijo". Very informative and a great contrast between the old fashioned methods used for centuries and the new technologies applied for quality control. People were very friendly and the wine varieties sampled were delicious. Shipped some samples home quite easily too, which was very convenient. Highly recommended

I visited Quinta do Beijo last November with a tour group and it was a great experience. Joao the wine maker and owner was very friendly and provided a great tour of the facility. The wine itself was wonderful, my favorite was the table red wine and the award winning while port. Highly recommend visiting this wonderful winery and enjoying the wine and the wine making process.

We arrived at booked time and were asked to wait 20 minutes. We then expected 1hr tour and tasting. It lasted half an hour. We tasted 3 wines and 2 ports. Very little tour. Fast description. Pretty disappointed and cost us 25 euros.
Wine and ports (same glass...no rinsing....not sure about the etiquette of that). It left a sour taste and we didn't want to buy anything. Not recommended I'm afraid
