I visited the Jack Rabbit cellar door on Sunday morning, and we were made feel like an inconvenience. How dare we come do a tasting on a Sunday morning at 11 when they are doing lunch set up. Mind you, according to their website the cellar door is open 10 am to 5 pm... 4 different staff members rushing us through a tasting, barely telling us anything about the wine or the place even when asked. Seemed they just wished we hadn't come at all, nor needed our business. Needless to say, we won't be recommending this place to anyone...

Not sure of the sizings so we ordered the bruschetta with pumpkin, pesto, tomato, goats cheese, rocket and onion jam for $22. It was one small slice of bread, hardly any pesto or other items, just a lot of very sweet jam. Still can't believe it. For another $10 I could have had four large fillets of fish!! Won't be going back.

We stopped at Jack Rabbit on our way back to Geelong after visiting the Portarlington Mussel Festival. Although the place was heaving, two hen parties and a wedding, Kate the manage quickly found us a shady table. The staff were friendly, efficient and didn't stop running! We shared a croque monsieur. Mrs M. had a glass of the excellent Jack Rabbit Sauvignon Blanc.
One small niggle - I'm so glad that we were in a hire car as I would hate to drive my own car over the corrugated, dusty and unmade road that leads from the highway into the property. I would suggest that the properties which use this access road get together and pressure the local council to surface the road... or perhaps do it themselves.

I had a great experience here while on holiday in Victoria. The quality of the food here is outstanding and you are guaranteed a great meal. I had the most amazing lentil curry and the staff were very good in accommodating my dietary requirements. Great place and great food, couldn’t ask for more.

Popped in to taste their wines, first off had to pay $5 each for tasting , don't mind that but then received about 5ml in the bottom of the old international tasting glass, after a 3 different tastes of their wines I couldn't really tell what I was tasting being such a small pour, anyway it make a laying impression, I will never be coming back or ordering their wines anywhere
Where as next door there is another cellar door Terindah Estate, where I experienced the completely opposite , decent glass, helpful advise on what I was tasting and an amazing view over the bay. They also have a cafe open 7 days ,guess where I am going next time

After waiting a couple of months, we were finally able to get a reservation in the restaurant for a Sunday lunch. In no time at all, the place was almost completely full.
After eating there, I now know why.
My husband & I had a fantastic 3 course lunch. The food is beautiful.
We tried both of their sparkling's as well as the merlot & Pinot Grigio. All were great. We then purchased a tomato relish & lemon myrtle infused olive oil from their lovely gift shop. There is also a cafe for a more relaxed setting. Both places offer great food with breath taking views. This place really has a special feel about it. All the staff were very professional. We will definitely be back.

We arrived and were faced with 2 restaurant possibilities, so we chose the right hand, smarter option. The waiter completely ignored us as we entered and waited....and waited. He passed us several times and continued to completely ignore us so we we walked out. The restaurant was less than a third full. The more casual (left side) option was wonderful. Great food, friendly service and super setting.

We are locals (as in we have a holiday house in Port) and love new additions to in Port. When this was taken over and turned into Jack Rabbit, we were happy to see something new in the Bellarine. The new owners have renovated it and have lovely food. The view is to die for. I have to admit, the wine is not amazing, but nice. The staff in the wine cellar....have to go. We went in one lunch just to try some wine and have some nibbles. I was wearing a black tracksuit but I was quite presentable. The lady looked me up and down and said they had no space. We looked around and there were 5 empty tables. We asked about the empty tables and she gave us the most inappropriate response. I used to love Jack Rabbit because of the view and food, but after that experience we have not been back at all, and we used to be regulars. The old blonde with the bob in the wine tasting area is ruining that place. I have been going to Terindah instead and love it there! What pity, a beautiful place ruined for me but a rude employee.

The Jack Rabbit informal restaurant (aka House of Jack Rabbit) is a go-to destination for the family whenever we all get together. Why? Because with 6 adults and 4 children under 4, we need somewhere that offers a range of food, tolerance for little ones and space for them to run. And, it has it all, which is why we keep coming back! The food for adults was delicious - all about $30 - with the vegetarian antipasto platter getting things going, followed by a mix of the Bellarine Lamb burger, Flying Brick Cider battered local gummy shark, lemon pepper squid and the Lebanese grilled chicken. All adults commented on the decent serving sizes and rich flavours, with every plate being cleaned! The kids enjoyed fish and chips, which were keenly devoured. A bottle of the Jack Rabbit Sparkling Blanc de Blanc (and some boutique beers) helped make the occasion a little special and complimented the meals. All in, it cost about $240,which is very reasonable. While one has to queue to order, once done, the service was prompt and a thing that I liked is the table was cleared soon after we had finished, despite it being a beautiful day which made it very busy. I would recommend booking and asking for a table with a view, as they are really good and make the location better than others nearby. Summary: location, service, quality, variety and decent prices means we will definitely be back!

Recommended place by many friends. So we drove there, Sunday 11:15am. Place open, 4 staff working so hard to set up place that can't see us. We spend there 10min, we weren't acknowledge, no one came to us, no one said good morning or welcome or won't be long. And trust me they knew we are there. We were the only customers!!!!!
