- Chefjake1994Newmarket, United Kingdom1 contributionA surreal experience ✨️I've honestly got nothing bad to say at all! The facilities are amazing, there's plenty of activities to do throughout the day. We bought a spa day pass and stayed here for 10 hours, it just flew by! The spa is immaculate and spotlessly clean, the freedom of nudity is awesome and everyone is really respectful towards eachother, nothing creepy or embarrassing. Just people being naked as if it was completely normal, which was brilliant, loved it. I hope to return ASAP.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 13, 2024
- Matt B7 contributionsWhat an amazing place. This place is amazing such a well run clean place. The pools are lovely and clean with many to choose from. Wasn’t sure about saunas but when you experience an Aufgas ritual you will see things in a different light. Olga was brilliant and we relaxed and laughed at the same time. One tip we picked up is from the moment you walk in you can stay in your robe. Even to eat in the brassiere restaurant. ( didn’t use the one in the top floor). Which means you can come with just hand luggage if you fly in. It normalises being naked around people and leaving your swim suit off then having a sauna then dip is an experience you must try.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 15, 2024
- James R4 contributionsWonderful.A totally great place to stay for a few days. Exceptional breakfast, fantastic spa, great staff, etc. Already anxious for our next visit. To make the experience even better, when we could not get a cab, Uber, or bolt to the train station, the manager drove us there himself.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 14, 2024
- HFs LondonLondon, United Kingdom71 contributionsBeyond brilliantIt is very difficult to know where to start or what exactly to say about The Well. To report that I 'loved it' is a ridiculous understatement. I adored it and am desperate to return. Dealing with the hotel first, it is excellent. Housed in a very modern, a bit stark, plain building, inside it is five star. The rooms are great, the bathrooms luxurious and the restaurants first class. The Brasserie serves excellent breakfasts and delicious mid-range dinners. The fine dining Mori has exceptionally good food and an excellent wine list to accompany it. Now the spa. Wow. It is beyond brilliant and I doubt there is a better spa in the world, let alone in Europe. The scale of the place is mind boggling, as is the array of saunas, steam rooms and showers. Everything seems pretty much brand new and beautifully maintained. My wife and I paid extra for the hammam treatment and cannot recommend it highly enough. An amazing experience. Do not miss it if you do visit The Well. I also suggest no-one needs to be put off by the nakedness. The atmosphere is incredibly respectful and plenty of people choose to wear swimwear when not in the saunas and steam rooms. Having now experienced The Well, I have some sympathy for the comment elsewhere that nudity could be made mandatory - that some people do choose to 'cover up' does make those getting used to being naked a bit more uncomfortable. I have nothing negative to say about The Well, but a 'level playing field' on spa clothing etiquette would be an improvement on an already wonderful experience. Spending the weekend at The Well is not a cheap option, particularly if you are flying from the UK, but if you like spas and want to experience the freedom of very respectful nakedness, I very much doubt there is anywhere better in the world.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 9, 2024

This is my second visit to The Well.
It has a lovely design and I really enjoy the different spas and saunas. Like my first visit I feel truly relaxed. The staff are also generally very helpful.
But there are a few negatives:
1. Several tiles and light fittings are missing and some without warning signs so they are an OH and S issue.
2. The bus info on the website just says ‘The Hub’ and I couldnt find anywhere on The Well website which gives an address or explains what The Hub is.
3. My receipt was incorrect which is really disappointing. Not by much but it doesn’t give the customer a feeling of trust with mistakes on the receipt when the cost of entry is already quite pricey. I ordered a burger and the price was different to what is on the menu. Only by 10Kr and then they added extra cheese for 15Kr which I didnt ask for. I asked for no tapende and they asked if I wanted cheese but they didnt say this was extra or would cost more. Luckily I noticed and I spoke to staff and they rectified it but I think it is important for others to know so they also check their receipt. It’s horrible to feel duped.
4. Glasses and mugs can be found around the place as there seems to be no staff member collecting them and the ones I saw were there for most of my visit.
5. During one of the sauna experiences (balance) the attendant used Cinnamon which I loved. I spoke to her afterwards and she told me I could purchase this oil it in the shop but no luck there. Staff tried to find it but they were none the wiser.
I will finish with a positive. The bus driver who drove The Well bus on morning of the 28th July was so lovely and needs recognition. Happy bus drivers are quite rare in Oslo. Please pass this on to him and say thanks!

My wife and I stayed at The Well Spa Resort recently. The hotel is new whereas the Spa section is about six years old.
In their website and in all their written material they strive to portray the place as being an upmarket Spa resort but don't get your hopes up. Even though the place looks posh the staff still has a long way to go before the guest experience is anywhere near what you'd expect when you look at their level of prices.
We waited in excess of 30 mins to get checked in. The check-in lady was very pleasant and professional but having two check-in counters only when there's a lot of guests entering isn't enough.
The room was fine and the Spa is excellent except for the staff in the Spa reception area which were anything but helpful. They preferred chit-chatting between themselves instead of offering help to their guests. And don't get surprised if you get lost in the wardrobe area. Clearly, helpful signs which might direct the guests in the right direction seem to be in breach with the design concept so you won't find any.
In the evening we dined in Mori (an Asian restaurant) at the top floor and the food was very good. Again, though, the staff fell through. The waiter kept forgetting our requests and more than 20 mins passed from when I asked for the check until I got it.
The next morning we had breakfast in Brasseriet and although the waiter was very friendly we had to wait in excess of 20 mins for our omelettes. By then we had more or less finished our breakfast helping ourselves to the buffet instead.
When it was time to leave the hotel we had to line up and wait to check out once again. Considering a stay of less than 24 hours ended up costing north of NOK 5500 I believe the service ought to be better.
And if you think they'll present you with a listing of your orders upon paying think again. They show you a total amount ask you to pay and offer to send you a receipt by email after the fact. Guests simply have to trust the staff don't make mistakes along the way so you don't end up paying more than you should.

Avoid a Tuesday evening especially during school holidays..... way too many people contributed to a very un-relaxing experience. A lot of people obviously prefer a Tuesday as bathing costumes must be worn as opposed to other days of the week when it's optional. Why on earth the management at The Well don't introduce more days of the week when bathing costumes are obligatory is beyond my comprehension.

Was a nice stay but all in all too restrictive to normal people (whatever that means).
We are smokers, so to have a smoke you have to get out to the parking lot even if there are huge areas they could dedicate to the view visitors that actually smoke.
You may decide to have a swimming suit (which we definitely wanted) but have to buy it in their shop - no, your own isn’t good enough. And then you will have to take it off when you want to join the sauna, except Tuesdays.
But Tuesdays people stand in huge lines to get in there, because most people do not like to be completely naked in public.
Being a hotel guest I find it odd that it is impossible to get the spa treatment you were looking for. Incredibly inflexible for the flexible.
Luckily, we managed to be there on a Tuesday morning and could enjoy the sauna without being completely naked.
The pool inside is awesome with a lot of different bubbly effects that anyone would favor.
The hotel part is a whole different case. Nice amenities and great space (Asian style), though some technical issues here and there. Loved the waterfall showers!
Things cost, but worth it if you get what you came for.

Dear Katy, Thank you for the review. We appreciate the feedback. The area is non-smoking because we are a spa with health and wellness as core values. We believe smoking areas inside the spa go against the concept. There are designated smoking areas between the main entrance and the parking lot, as well as outside the entrance on the second floor. The Well swimwear is designed to dry quickly and thus avoid water spills. We are happy that our spa treatments are very popular, and we will inform our guests to book in advance upon booking of the stay.

Please note that experiences and opinions may vary. I invite everybody to write honest and above all realistic reviews. That's how we can help each other. We had for several reasons a dissapointing experience at The Well. For us the place can't seem to make a choice in if it wants to be a full sauna or not. Now it's a sauna/swimmingcomplex with partly clothed and partly naked guests. It creates weird situations and most important, it seems to attract a few visitors for the wrong reason.
We booked an overnight stay and probably won't do that again. The place is pretty new and modern but that isn't always a plus. De airconditioning in the room can't be turned of which can be disturbing when sleeping. Rooms are also equipped with smart lamps, but je don't want them to turn on in the middle of the night. Dispite the fact the place is still pretty new the bed already feels a bit worn down. Another thing to mention is loud other guests (till 02.30u not in weekend). This could have been us just being unlucky but it is off course anoying and where is hotel staff to regulate.
The experience with the food is kind of like bitter sweet. There are two restaurants. The Mori restaurant can only be accessed with normal clothing which means you have to change twice is you want to stay in the sauna before and after. They should really change that if you ask us. The other restaurant serves dissapointing diner. The linguini sauce was watery and the burger defenitely dry. The tartar is off balance with way too much capers and beetroot. The positive thing is that the breakfast they serve is really nice with everything you can wish for.
Another positive thing for overnight guests is that a part of the complex opens up already at 08.00u where day guests are welcome from 10.00u. But then truelly dissapointing again is that overnight guests pay a Kr. 120,00 parking fee (day visitors pay Kr. 60). This is in no way providing service to your customers.
All and all there is enough to improve at the place and it seems they need to make clear choices.

I came to the well spa with my husband for a day of relaxation. the system is well thought-out and facilitates a very restful day. We arrived just after 13:00 and left after 20:00. I was surprised we stayed that long. there was just so much to do and so many different facilities to use. I also highly recommend making a reservation at the restaurant as it gets quite busy and the bars don't have great food selection.

One of the worst hotel experience. I barely manage to sleep two hours. The aircondition system in the room is one of the noisiest I have ever experienced. The evening before I told the reception about my concern, but they said the noise is normal. The curtains do not block out light, expect a lit up room 6:30 am because of day light in the summer in northen Europe. And, no tv in the room (!!). Never coming back.

This sounded like a great place with its huge spa. We checked in on a Sunday afternoon with nice sunny weather. Unfortunately, the hotel had a noisy pool party which completely ruined the experience. The hotel makes guests buy their overpriced (optional) swimwear which even the staff admit is a rip off. The hotel claims it is for hygiene reasons which is nonsense as you could take the swimwear away and wear it unwashed on your next visit. We were not allowed to cross from the spa back to the hotel at the 3rd floor but had to go down to the ground floor and up again. We were told that it was for health and safety reasons - which was a joke as we had to walk down wet stairs that staff were cleaning! Soft drinks at the pool bar were very expensive. The main restaurant was closed on the Sunday so we had to eat in the brasserie, surrounded by people in bath robes. Our food order never arrived and to his credit the restaurant manager was very professional and got things sorted. Our order had been lost as a large group took priority.

Very big and clean place, amazing with a lot a pools and saunas. Unfortunately the restaurant manager had a very bad attitude to us when we complained about my vegan friend getting egg in her food twice and my vegetarian friend got ham in her sandwich. Did not even say sorry to us

This was the first time I spent the night at the Well. The hotel is very nice. The room was amazing but still a couple of things that need improvement. Duvet and pillow were terrible, cheap plastic quality which ruins your sleep. There was no heating floor in the bathroom and at the same time the ventilation in the bathroom was like a hurricane.

I would like to come and stay here for two nights for my birthday.
How did people get to here from the UK?
Many thanks

A taxi from The Well to the city centre cost us 568 NOK (£47) in July 2022. We used the Bolt ride share app with a discount voucher for first time users to get to The Well earlier in the day and that cost 225 NOK (£19). Public transport would have been cheaper obviously but we were prepared to pay the sky high taxi fares to get back to the city quicker.

Hei. Brukes det klor for å rense vannet på The Well?
Written November 16, 2019

Hatt to kjempefine dager på The Well.
Da tilpasser man alle.

Hello, when the Well bus goes from the center in the weekend? And how often it goes? How much does it cost to go and back? How much does it cost per person to enter the spaa in the evening after 5 pm?
Written February 22, 2019
I am sorry, we used bus passes. I know you can purchase tickets for a partial day instead of all day. I went with 2 other people. I did not purchase a bathing suit. I purchased the extra towel. You admittance includes a robe, slippers, 2 towels (1 to sit on in spas) and a locker for your belongings. You have to buy a bathing suit or the other towel. Bathing suits are not allowed in the spas. I opted for the towel because I did not want to be bothered with changing in and out of a wet bathing suit. You will walk around in your robe. We did not eat while there because we paid for the short day and dining takes away from the time you can enjoying the pools, spas and various showers. Hope you enjoy as much as I did.

Is it possible to go there with public transportation?
Thank you
Written November 8, 2018
Hei, beklager sent svar. Vi har 18 årsgrense på The Well. Heldagsinngang koster 495,-

Can I go without a reservation and pay there once I arrive?
Written January 30, 2018
For the majority of the facilities yes. There is a bus from central Oslo (Raddison hotel) which is great for transfers to and from the spa.
On arrival you pay a fee based on length of stay ( cheaper if you leave before 2pm). They provide robe and slippers and towels. You have access to a locker. Full facilities for showering and hair drying etc. You get a wrist band that you can charge food and drinks on - you pay on exit for those.
I suspect you would have to book ahead for the treatments such as massages etc. We didn’t do any treatments. There is plenty to enjoy without them!
