The “wheeled bobsled” was incredible and I highly recommend it.
You get a mini van ride up to the start, then get a waist support belt/helmet on before getting into your Bob with the driver. The run down took approx 60 seconds! You get the feeling of 3G force on the corners, more so if you’re seated at the back of the Bob.
The staff were friendly and informative.
Overall a fun activity about 20mins drive north of Lillehammer.
Cost 1000 krone for 3 people in one Bob.

We pre-booked our bobsleigh run via email a few weeks before our holiday.
Arrived in time to watch a few bobsleighs hurtle down the track first .. exciting to see the looks on their faces afterwards, some smiling and others looking bit traumatised!

What an amazing experience! This has been on my bucket list for such a long time and the reality exceeded all my expectations 🙂
Only the 3G Bob raft was running on the day we visited (it's like a padded bath tub!) but it was still incredibly fast.... I'm not sure if I would have survived the 5G taxi Bob!
The staff were wonderful, really friendly and informative.
There's drinks available in the ticket office, but no cafe or anywhere to get a snack or something to eat.
Getting there without a car isn't easy. We got the 141 bus from Lillehammer Station which drops you off at Fossegarden (cost 53 NK). Its then a 2 km walk across the dam and then through the Family resort (30-40 minutes going as its up hill, only 20-30 minutes back down hill)
Fantastic visit, highly recommended

Great and exciting ride!
Free parking, ticket 100 kr per bob, toilet, good transportation by mini bus to the start of the run.
We had a very good driver and it felt like a real Olympic ride. A personal record 1.43.49. No injuries because of the belt and helmet.
Avoid the rear seat if you are with 2 persons.

Most expensive ($80) minute you may ever spend, but also one of the most memorable. 1-mile, 375' drop and 16 turns. This is the real deal, but ne prepared for the vibration, which will turn your insides into jelly.

We went in the go-karts because it was summer - I say go-karts but there's a full roll cage protecting you. The drivers are pretty cool and obviously know the track inside out - you get helmets to wear and they'll brief you about safety beforehand, which is good as you can hit 2G or more. The ride itself lasts just over a minute and as Jotti H says below, it's like a roller-coaster, only a lot more thrilling.
I did have a slight neck ache after we finished our run, so didn't do a second there and then, but I definitely want to do another bobsleigh run again, be it here or somewhere else. If you're a thrill seeker, into roller coasters or adrenaline sports, you'll love this!

After falling in love with the show Lilyhammer and planning our trip in Oslo, we decided a visit to Lillehammer and the wheelbob would have to be done. We had the best time! It's very fast and very bashy and bouncy, but great fun and such a fantastic experience! I'd have gør straight back on had I had time! Lovely staff, a well run operation and a safe and speedy journey down the track. Desperate to visit again next time!

Very unique thrill to go down the bobsled Olympic run on wheels. Very fast but safety precautions were taken. You may have a mild headache at the end. My 10 and 13 year olds loved it.

I went on the wheelbob, together with 2 Americans I met at the parkinglot. Initially I wanted to go with my wife, but she wasn't allowed (pregnant).
The ride is like a fantastic rollercoaster, but more exciting and physically challenging.

Hi, Is it possible to get to the Bob and Luge track by public transport from Lillehammer? Is there a train station within walking distance? Or a bus route? Thanks Tricia

Hi and thank you for your request. The opening hours for the bobsleigh track for next winter are not 100% finished, but most likely it will be open 27th-31st December from 12.00-17.00. Maybe also the 26st.The capasity will however be a bit limited on 29th-31st due to an event. Hope to see you there :)

does it run rain or shine?
Hi Steve. I apologize for not replying on your question. We run the wheel bob even though if it`s raining. I hope you were able to have a ride! Regards Bente

Hello,
1. How much does it cost?
2. Is it suitable for a quadriplegic with cerebral palsy with someone he knows sitting in front and behind?
We are a family of 6--all children are young adults.

How can a tourist get to the Luge Track from the town of Lillehammer if we do not have a car?

We got a taxi there and back - around 400kr each way from Lillehamer. Not cheap but probably the easiest way.
