Do not miss this exciting centre.
Not only providing excellent views across the channel, the site has a modern cafe and souvenir centre. The most exciting and highly recommended part is the interactive experience. Well made for all the family to enjoy, its a great opportunity to involve everyone ob the wartime experience of the Battle of Britain. There are interactive maps and displays including a Hurricane flight simulator. Lots of parking.
We look forward to welcoming you back 😊 – thank you for your kind words!

Lest We Forget - Tribute to The Few
This tribute to The Few is simple yet striking. A lone airman sits looking out over the Channel, waiting and watching. There is a wall of recognition to ALL those pilots who flew in the Battle of Britain. Seeing the names together shows just how Few they were. It is right that they are all remembered. There is also a replica Spitfire, Hurricane and Stuka. Don't miss BOB the dog. Lots of information around. The visitor centre was very interesting. There was a very reasonably priced shop, which was well stocked and cafe, which had a good range of reasonably priced items. The staff were very friendly and extremely welcoming. There is no charge for the memorial. You have to pay for parking, which was very reasonably priced and the entry to the Scramble exhibit. I didn't vist the Scramble but will on a future visit. Lest We Forget.
Thank you for your kind review - we are so pleased you enjoyed your visit to the Memorial. We look forward to welcoming you back for a Scramble Experience visit!

    Battle of Britain memorial Caple-Le-Ferne
We visited on 21/06/24;on a vip experience. We were shown round by Sam who is treausurer of the memorial trust .She has a wealth of knowledge about the site and the battle itself. My wife and I had a thoroughly enjoyable experience and the day was topped off with a lovely cream tea in the cockpit cafe overlooking the English Channel. Anyone who has an interest in the battle of Britain and how the few helped the allies win the war a visit is highly recommended especially if you're fortunate enough to have Sam as your guide..Five stars
Thank you for your kind review! We're so pleased you enjoyed your experience package with the wonderful Sam. We look forward to welcoming you back.

    Interesting stop on our ramble
Just a short stop on our ramble between Folkestone and Dover via Capel-le-Ferne. Attractive exterior with amazing views along the coast, as well as interesting artifacts. Similarly inside, with free admission, friendly staff and a reasonably-priced.

A Must See Memorial in Kent
We dropped in at the Battle of Britain Memorial during our stay in Kent. The Site for the Memorial was chosen well as Visitors can enjoy lovely views across the Channel. The Architecture of the Visitor Centre and Cafe is quite stylish and pleasing to the eye. Wandering around the Site we were impressed with the Memorial Wall, the Memorial of a Pilot and the Models of Aeroplanes used during World War II. All in all the Battle of Britain Memorial is a fitting tribute to the Aircrews who fought so gallantly in World War II.

    Battle of Brilliant memorial
Absolutely fantastic we had a guided tour with The very knowledgeable, informative and friendly Sam who showed us around the whole memorial including the scramble experience which was fantastic lots of videos and screens and information and insights into what it was like during that period of history. I've Always been interested in this and it's my first visit to the memorial building my first visit was not long after the site opened and before the building existed. I would definitely recommend the experience which also includes a delicious cream tea which is not to be missed. Thanks to all the lovely staff for a truly splendid few hours there.

    Great day!
Thoroughly enjoyed our day here. Informative, interesting, well-laid out, suitable for all ages, great café, fabulous gift shop. (Visit slightly spoilt by one of the other visitors. A man – dressed like a woman – who behaved in a very peculiar and intimidating way in the ladies’ toilets. Sir – a real woman would not cover her face in cream in public. Absolutely no fault of the organisers though and can recommend a visit.)
Thank you very much for your review.

    Gifts and a cheese toastie
This was our third visit but this time we didn't go to the scramble. We had a lovely cheese and onion toastie with a mug of Yorkshire tea at the outside space of the cockpit cafe. We also bought some really nice gifts which were not overpriced and our battle of Britain calendar for 2025. Will be back next season.
Thank you very much for your review.

It says it all, I love it here, I'm came for my 29th birthday, since I was a boy I've been fascinated by the battle of Britain and this was the first time I'd experienced it on this level, I mean wow! I learnt so much, we went into to the beautifully made building met by a lovely gentleman on the desk who we paid our entry too, he explained that in this wing there were exhibits that didn't belong to them so he asked politely that we not take pictures in that area, fair enough, we went in and wow it was interactive, so many boards to read there were uniforms to try on me and my partner had great fun trying them on (the staff were lovely I'm sure if we'd of asked them they'd of let us take a picture of us with them on) for me I loved thr hurricane simulator, using all the info I learnt on the boards in the room I managed to shoot down 10 German bombers.

After this, we watched the scramble video and that really spoke to me when the gent said "Im just waiting to be taken" such a strong statement at that time really moving.

After this, we went out to the memorial oh my what a stunning memorial, I found my local squadron of 611 squadron. Absolutely loved it, the replica planes are in great shape.
The coffee shop was staffed by two heroes of the rainy day, having hot drinks ready when we came up and a beautiful sausage roll, yummy

I left here proud to be British and I learnt soo much, it was worth every penny. Highly recommend it a definite must if your near by.

In a commanding position on the cliffs above Folkestone, this is a stunning and moving museum and memorial.
The Wing visitor centre, in the shape of a spitfire wing, houses a cafe, shop and the scramble experience. The scramble experience has a small charge but well worth it, a fully interactive exhibition telling the history and human stories about the Battle.
The memorials in the ground are well presented and thought provoking and the views over the channel give extra poignancy. Perfect timing saw a spitfire flying over.
A must visit

The weather caused us to change our plans and we discovered this gem.
The outside memorials were shrouded in low cloud so no views of the channel but we could see that this would be pleasant in drier weather.
The volunteers inside were helpful and informative.
The paid exhibition was so well priced it is almost a bargain. Wonderful presentation with lots of interactive screens, challenges and hurricane experience. All well maintained, working and well planned.
Upstairs is a small coffee shops that on a good day would have lovely views. Good range of food and drink all at very reasonable prices.

Was gifted this as a Virgin Experience including a Prosecco cream tea. Needed to rearrange date several times and Audrey in the office could not have been more accommodating. Easy to find and friendly welcome from stepping through doors. We were lucky with the weather and it was gloriously sunny if bracing when doing the outside part. Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative. The “Scramble Experience” is one of the best interactive exhibits I have ever visited. The film as part of this was very moving and authentic. The recordings with the veterans (not just pilots) both video and audio brought that time to life. The view over the Channel from the Cockpit Café upstairs in the Wing is very evocative. The cream tea rounded of the day nicely and fortified us for the long drive back to Norfolk.

The memorial is amazing with lots of information available but whatever you do don't stop for a coffee!! The poor staff having to serve up sachet coffees guising as Espressos at £2.50 a shot in large mugs. In addition, the Cappuccino was so watery I couldn't finish it. Come on it dosent take a lot to purchase a proper coffee machine. If the funds are unavailable then please stop advertising Espressos and Cappuccinos/Lattes. I really feel sorry for the tourists that come to visit this café and I understand we're not the first to complain. The place would be perfect otherwise.

Dear T4067 etc (please forgive me for not using your real name, but you don't reveal it) - I am delighted that you enjoyed your visit but sad that you focused so much on the coffee. The Memorial is a charity that depends to a large extent on volunteers who do their utmost to provide a warm welcome and a great experience. Occasionally there are issues with a new volunteer and a tricky bit of machinery, and I'm sorry that you may have fallen foul of that combination on this occasion. That said, of course, you had just enjoyed an amazing visit to a fabulous, immaculately maintained site that's free to visit (with the exception of the Scramble Experience) and you could have simply smiled and got on with your day. If you would like to help us purchase a 'proper coffee machine' (more costly than you imagine for a charity) and volunteer to man it on a couple of days a week, we would welcome you with open arms. In the meantime we are reviewing our coffee provision. Thank you for your contribution to that process.

Evocative memorial particularly within sight of the French coast on a fine day. The design of the memorial captures the spirit of the airmen and aircraft involved through static display, memorial wall and the monument itself.

The cafe offers a superb panoramic view of the Channel but a limited range of snacks.

Highly recommended .

We were looking for a low cost trip out on a sunny Sunday afternoon so we chose to visit the Battle of Britain Memorial. It was easy to find and there were plenty of parking spaces. The car park charges were reasonable (from £1 for an hour) and the entrance is free unless you go for the Scramble Experience (adults £6, children £4). We were lucky because there was a Bonnets and Wings car show in the grounds which means we could enjoy a nostalgic look at many old cars from the past. There was also a swing band playing which was wonderful. The day was really great and really enjoyable. It's a really peaceful place and a great tribute to those who gave their lives for their country, I wasn't sure about paying for the Scramble Experience but I understand the running costs must be significant so maybe it's justifiable, but maybe a little bit too much for a large family.

Hi there, thanks very much for your kind review - we're so pleased you enjoyed yourselves! As a charity the Trust depends on shop and café sales, parking and Scramble Experience visits for its existence. While we would like to offer free access into the experience, we really do rely on that income for our £240,000 running costs per year. Hope you can understand our predicament and hope to welcome you back to the site soon.

This memorial is a very moving tribute to all the men who took part in The Battle of Britain. The Wall outside is particularly poignant - inscribed on it are the names of those who died defending our freedom - nearby are a Spitfire and a Hurricane which is what these young men flew. There is also a statue of an airman gazing wistfully out across the Channel. The whole area is so peaceful and there is a very pleasant clifftop walk. Inside the building there is a small bookshop and The Scramble Experience for which there is a small charge but it is an experience not to be missed. Upstairs there is an excellent cafeteria with outside seating area and incidentally they do a lovely cup of coffee. The whole thing has been very well planned and is well worth visiting.

Anyone with a knowledge or interest in WW2 could not help but be moved by this memorial.
Enjoy the Scramble experience and take the time to read the words and the history of this exhibition.
Outdoors wander around the grounds, reflecting at the memorial wall, gaze out to sea at the central sculpture and imagine what it must have been like in 1940.
For those in need the Cockpit Cafe provides light meals and snacks on the upper level.
Highly commended and recommended.
