About
A Memorial to the men of the Battle of Britain alongside a modern interpretation centre that brings to life the victory 'the Few' achieved over the Luftwaffe in 1940. A place of quiet pilgrimage coupled with a high-tech and interactive visitor centre - plus fantastic views over The Channel from our first-floor cafe. Shop and coach parking.

Anyone with a knowledge or interest in WW2 could not help but be moved by this memorial.
Enjoy the Scramble experience and take the time to read the words and the history of this exhibition.
Outdoors wander around the grounds, reflecting at the memorial wall, gaze out to sea at the central sculpture and imagine what it must have been like in 1940.
For those in need the Cockpit Cafe provides light meals and snacks on the upper level.
Highly commended and recommended.

We’ve come here for many years… to honour The Few and recharge our batteries. It’s a beautiful, peaceful place that (if you are lucky enough) will sometimes be enhanced with the sound of the beautiful Spitfire’s and their magnificent Merlin engines.

A place to sit, reflect on those who paid the ultimate price and look out over the Channel remembering all those who gave so much.

We used to attend the Memorial days and come for the special service on the 15th September.

It really is the most wonderful place to be xx

PS Managed this very special photo from my flight in Elizabeth on the 11th September 2022 doing a barrel roll over the Memorial… indescribable 🇬🇧✨

This is a very well done memorial with a fantastic gift shop and a very nice café. I believe we did have to pay to park which I thought was strange. We did not have time to watch the short movie but we did walk to the memorial and down to the waterfront and enjoy the view looking over to France. I got some great Christmas presents in the gift shop as well as a nice poppy brooch for myself. You only need about an hour here.

Such calm dignity and sensitivity almost underwhelm the significance of this memorial. The dedication and courage of those young men is wonderfully under stated by the simple wall of names. The entire experience is a learning curve, clearly researched and illustrated. I will certainly return with our grandson. There is also a very good cafe. All the staff are friendly and helpful.
I believe everyone should visit at least once!

It says it all, I love it here, I'm came for my 29th birthday, since I was a boy I've been fascinated by the battle of Britain and this was the first time I'd experienced it on this level, I mean wow! I learnt so much, we went into to the beautifully made building met by a lovely gentleman on the desk who we paid our entry too, he explained that in this wing there were exhibits that didn't belong to them so he asked politely that we not take pictures in that area, fair enough, we went in and wow it was interactive, so many boards to read there were uniforms to try on me and my partner had great fun trying them on (the staff were lovely I'm sure if we'd of asked them they'd of let us take a picture of us with them on) for me I loved thr hurricane simulator, using all the info I learnt on the boards in the room I managed to shoot down 10 German bombers.

After this, we watched the scramble video and that really spoke to me when the gent said "Im just waiting to be taken" such a strong statement at that time really moving.

After this, we went out to the memorial oh my what a stunning memorial, I found my local squadron of 611 squadron. Absolutely loved it, the replica planes are in great shape.
The coffee shop was staffed by two heroes of the rainy day, having hot drinks ready when we came up and a beautiful sausage roll, yummy

I left here proud to be British and I learnt soo much, it was worth every penny. Highly recommend it a definite must if your near by.

A peaceful setting in which to remember those brave people who fought for our freedom.
We visited as a large group called "Nostalgic Sandwich" and were warmly welcomed by the volunteers. Our group consists of mainly the older generation and had no problems accessing any areas.
The cafe was excellent and the shop sold appropriate items at affordable prices.

Beautiful setting overlooking the English Channel. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Talk and film great and interactive exhibition great for children. Good cafe with inside and outside space. Very enjoyable, even if not a World War 11 fan as such. Fitting tribute to the airmen and women, land crews, etc. involved.
