This beautiful sixteenth-century church in Vantaa is one of the most popular wedding churches in the Helsinki region, and the third-biggest granite church in Finland with unusually rich painted decorations. The church is also known for its excellent acoustics. The annual Vantaa Baroque Week is one of the many musical events arranged here.

Nice place for a wedding

Beautifull old church was perfect for a wedding. Lot's of parking space and easy to find. Surroundings were nice too.

This historical old environment exist still but you have to find it first. I can assure that it is worth it. The old church ("grey-stone-church") has interesting history behind. I recommend that before visiting here you make your home study or take history leaflet with you. You will get so much more out of this area if you go a... More

Nice church to visit, especially if you are foreigner - for me as a Finn there is nothing special but for a person who wants to familiarize with Finnish churches, a great place.

If you're a fan of churches, this is on top5 of the best churches at Helsinki Area. Located quite near the airport, and 20min by car from Downtown Helsinki, this is also not so far away.

Church of St. Lawrence is worth of visiting. Cultural historic area also in capital area. The Church was partially destroyed in a fire on end of 1800 century, but reconstructed in a Gothic Revival style. Surrounded by a graveyard - about 10 hectares (25 acres). Very popular wedding place at summer time. Some conserts also available like baroque or specially... More

Medieval church, typical church built of local stone material and bricks. The church is modernized but the environment with old houses is very nice.

Very beautiful stone Church. Also the peaceful area around church is worth seeing, e.g. you can enjoy your time at the river paths behind the church. On the other hand Tammisto outlet shops are also nearby on the other side of Helsinki-Tuusula motorway.

One of the busiest wedding churches in Finland. When you visit here, you know why. This small and charming church is nice place to visit during summer (or winter for example in Christmas concert). Visit also in modern memorial chappel which is open in summer with guide.

Pyhän Laurin kirkko is a very beautiful medieval stone church. It is not always open for public so you'd better check that in advance. The interior of the church is worth of visiting. There is a lovely stained glass art work behind the altar. The new chapel beside the old church is interested architectonically. The neighbouring area of the church... More

The church of St Laurensius (Pyhä Lauri) is located near airport Helsinki-Vantaa and shoppingarea Tammisto. The oldiest houses of the village Church village - Kirkonkylä are from 1700. The church is an old stonechurch and daily open in days. During the sommer you could find free music-concerts in daytimes and don´t forget BRQ-baroc music festival in the beginning of augusti....
