I went on a business trip and all of our group were amazed by the state of conservance of this castle. The interiors and the architecture is impressive. It definitely is a must when around Ferrieres en Brie. Besides the views to the gardens and the lake, the castle hosts two great restaurants, the one inside the building of the castle is a must. Definitely worth it to visit.

From the outside the castle is beautiful. Had dinner at Le Chai so we barely had time to take a peak around the grounds. It however made you curious enough to want to come back and experience more. Hope to be able to do so shortly.

Having booked what proved to be an excellent lunch at Le chai, one of the two restaurants at the château (see separate review) we thought we would look around the park beforehand. We arrived at 10am to discover the imposing gates firmly shut with a 'park closed' sign on them. Neither the trip advisor listing nor the château website gave any clues as to opening hours, although we did glean from other reviews that the château was closed to visitors. The website is as devoid of useful visitor information as it could possibly be! We returned at 11am and again at 12, the time of our lunch booking . Each time the gate was firmly closed. Eventually we noticed an intercom and having explained we had a lunch reservation we were buzzed through the gate. Despite the château having an event that afternoon at 2pm where they were expecting a large number of people the gates remained shut even when we left just after 2pm. We were very fortunate in that a lovely member of the restaurant staff took the time to show us around the main rooms of the château, which is very beautiful. The day we visited it was raining hard and thus not conducive to seeing the grounds. There are undoubtedly 2 very fine restaurants at the château - note that Le Chai is located in the old kitchens a hundred yards outside of the château itself, but connected by an underground passage, and if you book a table in Le Baron you will eat in the most beautiful dining rooms in the main house, I have to say that as a visitor attraction, the park and house are very unwelcoming. Perhaps they don't actually want visitors other than to their restaurants? Go for a superb meal but be warned about difficult access and no guarantee of seeing anything other than the view through the gates if you are not eating. Of course, this was early March and things may be different in the Summer, but with the lack of information on their website I can only speak as I found.

The park grounds are very pleasant for walking around with lots to notice. In summer it would be pleasant to bring a picnic and just sit and read for a while. Nice and peaceful and without crowds. The chateau seems only to be open occasionally, we saw an arts expo here before, and you can't visit the rooms which is a real shame as the architecture looks fab.

I did not see the inside of this sightseeing. It may be closed for sometime. The exterior of the palace as well as the park were found magnificent, suggesting an excellent interior which will be hopefully accessible at some stage in the future. The site was not too far from Disneyland.
