We didn't visit the house just the gardens .but was all very nice with lovely views and a nice place to sit overlooking the lake. We felt the café was a bit too expensive to eat there. But took a picnic.

We joined the first tour of the day and were shown around the house with a knowledgeable guide who told us all about the various people who had owned the house. The below-stairs rooms are interesting, too and quite extensive. They really give an idea...More

This year some of the basement rooms are open to the public for the first time. These include the laundry, butlers pantry, wine cellar plus others. To gain access one takes the stairs at the end of the ballroom. Also this year there are free-flow...More

We visited after seeing an article in the press on dog friendly days out. Very friendly and informative staff. We spent 2 1/2 hours wandering around the gardens. Dogs are not allowed in the hall but there is an area of the tea room they...More

Very nice place to visit plenty of guides available to help you round and answer any questions. The Victorian Ballroom added in the 1870s and decorated in the English Cointry Style, below stairs was the highlight for me with lots to see how footmen, butlers...More

Although I live nearby I had never been to Kelmarsh Hall and Gardens. We took a guided tour which I would recommend as it was very instructive and interesting. Kelmarsh is not the most elaborate property or the biggest but you really should go and...More

We went mainly for the gardens, and were not disappointed - they are very extensive and very beautiful. The visit inside the house was a bonus as I hadn't realised it was open to the public. Only the ground floor and basement are ready for...More

Visited on the National Lottery Thanks to You weekend in May 2018 (free entry with a lottery ticket). I was very impressed by the new below stairs interpretation which the Heritage Lottery Fund had paid for. The gardens were also lovely. The food and cakes...More

Lovely visit on Sunday. Even though it is still a bit early in the season the gardens were very nice. Lots of tulips and bluebells out. Pleasant walk throught the woods and round the lake. The house was very intesting and the people in the...More
