Mirusha Waterfalls is a chain of waterfalls found in the Mirusha River, situated on the south of the Gremnik Mountains; on the way to Gjakova at an altitude of 572 meters. Its distance from the capital city is approximately one hour.
Mirusha River engraved a 10 km long canyon and created 13 river lakes with 12 waterfalls between them. The waterfall with the biggest height is the one between the sixth and seventh lake, and it is 22 meters high.
Those waterfalls between the lakes, together with the stunning landscape, and rocks and caves around the waterfalls, form an overwhelming sight and present a special tourism attraction. Although the water temperature is usually quite cold, throughout summer when the temperature is high, swimming there can be incredibly pleasant.

I give the gorge & what I could see of the falls a 5 and Google Maps (GM) a -1000.
GM sent me on a nasty road to a bridge that was broken and had been for some time.
I wasn't alone. Another group (and one of them was a Kosovar!) had also been deceived by GM.
By bushwacking, we found some trails with limited access but nothing that got us to the heart of the falls.... so we both gave up.
My advice: go to the Mirusha Hotel (GM will get you there reliably) and ask for directions to the falls.
This was not my first negative experience with GM in the Balkans.... you have been warned!

This is a very beautiful place that picks up your heart with only a glance. I visited this place three months ago.
Everything there is magical, such as I felt in love with all of that. The reason why I visited that is in the winter was very freezing and Mirusha waterfall froze. Oh, you can’t imagine how did it look. A lot of people from other countries came and visited it as well. This Waterfall is a natural monument and should be preserved by law. The Mirusha waterfall is in Llapqevê village Monicipality of Malisheva. Mirusha Waterfalls are part of a park with important special natural, scientific, cultural and tourism. According to the IUCN, the area belongs "Crete protected" But the river Mirusha belongs "Natural Monument" [1]. Mirusha river during its flow passes through a nozzle which is known as the Mirusha River Canyon and creates here 12 waterfalls and 16 lakes that provide a rare morfo-hydrological phenomenon.
I simple recommend to visit this beautiful place that is so important for all us.

Don't go there in July ! Why ? because it's very hot and it didn't rain for a long time, so your chances to see the water fall in its full glory, shrink by the day. Like in our case.
Stop at the hotel - restaurant "Ujëvara e Mirushës", kilometer 9 on the road Klinë - Gjiakovë, coming from Pejë.
Inform about the level of the water...in fact, the river Mirusha split the terrace of the restaurant in 2, so you can see for yourself what your chances are..
The food is good, the rooms with A/C cost 20 euro/night ( july 2015).
The terraces are a blessing for a warm / hot day.
The setting is very beautiful...it's worth your trip...

Last time in Kosovo we tried to find the falls but could not find it, this time we were prepared. The road to the falls is not in the best shape so it´s a slow ride. There´s a parking slot nearby and a guy asked 1€ for parking.

The actual waterfall is quite small but somehow impressive. There were several locals fishing but I don´t think they got anything. By the falls there were also a couple of restaurants. At the summertime we might have spend the more time but now an hour was enough for us.

Located in Mirusha Park, in central Kosovo. The waterfalls are one of the most visited attractions of the area and people often swim there. The waterfall's caves are also popular with visitors. The highest waterfall is 22 meters. Parking is about 1 Euro and there are a couple of shops to have coffee and purchase sodas.

It took a while to find the place but it was worth it. There is a cafe and plenty of places to get in the water. If you're brave, hike up to the second level. If you're crazy, jump down!

To get the base of the waterfalls you can have a walk through a nice wood, coasting the mirusha river. When you get the waterfalls, you see a little lake made from that. At that place there are some snacks bar where you can have lunch. On the left side of the canyon there is a path that climbs up, so you can find more waterfalls and more lakes. The more you climb the cleaner is the water!!!!

Mirusha waterfall is one of the most special natural beauties in Kosovo, I was there 1 year ago, it was an unforgettable experience and a very pleasant environment to enjoy with family or friends. For the opinion, it is worth visiting at least once.
