About
The Palaeo Archaeologic Centre is a new concept museum; it is dynamic and very close to the surrounding territory. The Centre is divided by three sections:“Paleontological”: it is dedicated to the fossils of Genoni territory“Archaeological”: you can admire the reconstruction of the deepest well of Sardinia“Didactic”: the laboratory, where theory becomes practice

A pocket-sized didactical & research institution, the P.AR.C. is a Geology and Archaeology Museum located in Genoni, near the small basaltic plateau of Sant'Antine, a detached part of the much bigger and world-renowned Giara di Gesturi.
The place itself, with the Sacred Well that restituted some of the most relevant archaeological findings of ancient Sardinian history, a small and much revered sanctuary, and one of the most captivating panoramas in Sardinia, is well worth the visit.
But, as soon as you enter the compact and rich Museum, including didactical halls, laboratories for school children but also a full-fledged professional paleontological preparation lab, and a small theatre, you understand that something is going on well beyond the extraordinary wealth of marine fossils exposed in such a small venue.
In fact, taking advantage of the nearby geosite - one of the most relevant fossil quarries in Sardinia - a constant flow of didactical and promotional initiatives is taking place relentlessly, under the insightful scientific direction by Dr. Luigi Sanciu.
Among the peculiarities of the place, the availability of on-demand opening in the case that you arrive at the museum during closing hours, and guided tours to the geosite.
If you are in the vicinities of the Giara di Gesturi, it would be unforgivable to miss a visit. You may thank me later!

It was fabulous to climb to the plateau of the Giara and see the unique landscape that characterises this are of Sardinia. 100s of wild horses are to be seen, with a wealth of other unique species. Michele was very knowledgeable and eager to share his knowledge with his clients. He knows the area very well and was able to tailor the tour to our requirements. An additional surprise was the fossil museum. Be sure to ask him about this incredible treasure.
