It really nice place to have peace of mind. You really not going to find much animals, better luck you find. You will need a vehicle to visit. You can feel the nature around there, and visit it in cool time to enjoy the nature.

Skip this place not worth the time

You can go to this place from Kolar (Bangalore - Thirupathy highway) or from Palamaner. Palamaner route is better and more scenic than the Kolar one. It is an untouched place, you will barely see anybody around completely isolated. In my entire journey, I saw 3 bikes and couple of them walking that is it. We did not see elephants or deer lot of monkeys, though. It is a stretch of 20 km at the end you will reach Tamilnadu border.

Basically nothing in this place... It may be risky too there is no one to help you if you get robbed or mugged you down.

Sanctuary without wild life
Sep 2015 • Family
This is apparently on the way to Sri kalahasti temple. From Bangalore Via kolar its 150kms. You could also go via hosur,Krishnagiri but it'll be more than 200kms. We went via hosur and got back via kolar. There are a lot of websites that speak a lot about elephants and other animals in the sanctuary. But It was a complete waste of time as the people don't know anything about the sanctuary and we couldn't locate the beginning and end of the sanctuary. The locals don't speak any language other than Telugu. You'll get lost if you follow Google maps. We reached palamneer and spoke to the forest officer, the office is in the main road itself. He said its an open forest and there are no safari's. Also there are three tamed elephants somewhere in the village. Better to go to Nagarhole or Kabini of you want to enjoy wildlife.
