The church has beautiful stone walls. The altar is simple and elegant. There is a "secret" view deck which allows you to see the islands of Culion. Two Spanish canons are positioned on this view deck.

What a beautiful old church! The view of the ocean adds to the feeling of serenity and beauty. The locals were so friendly.

A beautiful and wellmaintained church that was built in the time of the spanish colonial era. We saw some canons at the back of the church which serves at a watch tower against moro invaders back then.

The church was incorporated at the heart of the leper colony built by the Americans in 1907. The island was "Paradise Lost" for a century as all lepers were forcibly arrested and sent to this very remote place, part of the Calamian Islands. I saw a picture of Immaculate Conception Church of Culion, Palawan in a magazine a year ago.. Then I told Hubby I wanted to visit the church. Just last week.. Nov. 01-03, 2013.. This Church is approached by numerous stone steps. It was built in 1933 despite apprearing much older. This replaced a far older original church. The ceiling has been beautifully painted and decorated by a professional artist. The altar is suitably reverential. I left a donation in the box provided.
