Excursion 3 days to Lithuania in late February. The first to visit the castle of the Radziwiłłłł princes in Birzaia. The big bus couldn't park nearby, they came on foot. They looked at the moat and the bastions with the cannons, walked across the beautiful lift bridge, next to the artificial frozen lake. The guide took us everywhere and told us. The castle was rebuilt only last century after being destroyed by the Swedes in the Northern War. Attracts tourists. I've seen Radziwiłłłow castles in the Republic of Belarus - Mirski and Neswiżski, in Warsaw a palace over the fence. Thank you.

It's a really lovely place to visit.
Biržai Castle is a Dutch-style fortress with bastions built by the Duke Radvila family and used to defend Lithuania's northern borders in the 17th-18th centuries.
It is a renaissance building and it is well preserved.
It is near a beautiful lake and has a wonderful view!!!

Birzai castle is renovated and it was made as a museum of Birzai country history. Castle has nice yard to walk around. Area is clean with a walk way to the river. In the castle basement is a restaurant with local beer. In the castle you can arrange an education tour about a beer with tasting. It’s a great place to visit!

Interesting place to visit. Fortress of Dukes Radvilos with historical castle, newly rebuilt arsenal, ramparts and great view to the oldest in Lithuania artificial Širvena lake formed in the XVI century to defend the castle and town. Museum, situated in the castle, offers variety of activities and restaurant invites for historical dishes. Both kids and adults will be satisfied.

While visiting Birzai, we went for a walk around the castle and there was much more to do than we realised. The building and grounds were beautiful and provided lovely scenic views, and then they've converted the inside into a museum with rtefacts from prehistoric to modern. It was cheap to get in and there was plenty to see, would recommend a visit.
