Did we get what we paid for?
Mar 2020 • Friends
What a lovely winery with incredibly knowledgeable and friendly staff. We called in for lunch after google searching and were contemplating whether to sit outside or in when we were greeted by a friendly gentleman who explained the share platters available and quickly had us relaxing in the sunshine with our chosen wine after a tasting and share platter of cheeses, pastries and veggies. We were a group of 4 who paid for share platters but I have a feeling the share platter we were served was for 2, between 4 of us 😬 making it an expensive exercise... the food was delicious but we all left hungry and called into a pizza place on the way home.

Wine tasting
Aug 2017 • Friends
The Gippsland area of Victoria has a number of wineries and this one is the closest to the village of Fish Creek.

The setting is pleasant and there is plenty of parking. The staff were friendly even though my friend and I were there at the same time as a larger group who were also tasting at the same time we weren't neglected. It was a fun atmosphere and some of the wine was nice (not that I'm an expert).

We weren't pressured to buy anything and enjoyed our little foray into wine tasting. Would definitely take other friends here.

We stopped for a quick lunch and had cheese platter which was quiete filling. They have an enclosed area you can sit down and enjoy your lunch with the dogs. Amazing place. Highly recommended

We were very happy with our delicious shared platter- definitely enough food for 2 people. Friendly and helpful staff- we enjoyed the wine tasting when we arrived.
Great way to spend a lazy afternoon. Will be back!

Lunch was disappointing
Jan 2017 • Couples
Lunch today was disappointing, with the charcuterie platter very small service for 2 people. There was absolutely no cooking, or preparation skill .... very disappointing.

Really for two persons, it extremely poor value for the $$$ paid..

BTW, we asked for a rose for lunch.... it was warm when it came, and the waitress did not know the name of wither wine.

Lovely location, and so much potential. I just hope we came on a bad day.

We love, love, love this place

Some friends travelled from Melbourne to help celebrate my birthday, and we had lunch at the wonderful Waratah Hills winery. The food was superb, the wines delicious and the hospitality ever warm and welcoming. Neil, Judy and Megan are exceptional hosts and make every visit a special occasion. Always a 10 out of 10.

Relaxing Visit
Apr 2015 • Couples
The winery has a very relaxing atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and the girl who was providing the sample wines to taste was very knowledgeable about wines from around the world. A very enjoyable experience.

Unmissable experience on the road to the Prom
Mar 2015 • Friends
I've been to Waratah Hills Vineyard many times, and look forward eagerly to every visit. It's sophisticated yet unpretentious, the award-winning wines are excellent, lunches are a feast for the senses ...it's simply a great place to be.
Seachangers par excellence, Judy and Neil Travers, along with their talented and vivacious daughter Megan, have created a wonderful space for locals and visitors to relax and enjoy themselves in delightful surroundings. Judy's renowned tapas plates and other simple yet elegant dishes incorporate the best of the region's products, and gorgeous artisan Prom Coast ice cream (I struggle mightily to choose between the salted caramel and mango sorbet...) is always on the menu.
Neil, after a very successful career with Judy in advertising, is a super maitre d', always happy to see you, encourage you to taste his wine, and make time for a chat.
I've been at W Hills for concerts (Margret RoadKnight is coming up in April), art exhibitions and private functions as well as joining families, groups and couples for long lazy lunches on lovely summer days. There's always the possibility of a bit of celebrity-spotting...after all, the well-signposted vineyard is on the road to one of Australia's most iconic destinations. The township of Fish Creek, fast becoming regarded as the artistic centre of Gippsland, is just a few kilometres away, and its galleries and cafes are well worth a visit too. Unmissable.

Great setting
Excellent setting. Great hosts. Excellent Pinot selection. Tapas and cheese boards on offer were reasonably priced and ample for 2. Looking for a relaxing lazy afternoon, this very well presented venue might be just the ticket. Kid friendly also.
