A must visit while in the Holy Island of Patmos. Beautiful Church adorned with magnificent Icons. The Nuns offered information when asked. Not happy about taking pictures in the Church but allow. Do not allow themselves to be photographed.

This is by far one of the most peaceful places that I've ever visited. The interior of the church is a sight to behold, but the energy of the care that the Nums bestow on the place is beautiful to experience.

The nunnery of the Annunciation is a beautiful, fairly recently built nunnery. It has marvellous views of the coast and a very interesting shop where we bought some herbs and honey. The church itself was lovely.
The other nunnery, Zoodochos Pigis is very old and tucked away below the monastery of the Apocalypse and can be reached from a road near the bus station. It has some stunning icons in their museum, it costs 3 euro, and is well worth the money because the icons are truly fabulous. They are very old, but in superb condition. The icons and the nuns made a lasting impression on my wife and myself.

A tranquil and beautiful place to visit.
No direct bus service to it if you don't have a car, but you can get there via car, bike or taxi, or walk to it from Hora (regular bus service between Hora and Skala).

As I entered the gate a sense of peace and tranquility over took me, a scenic view of sublime serenity hovers over entire monastery and the surrounding. The mass and the prayers were spiritually invigorating.

We were moved by the wonderful Sunday morning choral service at the nunnery. It starts at 7:30 am and ends at 9:30 am. There is limited space in the chapel itself where the small choral is situated. However, there are benches outside in the glorious sunshine amid plants and flowers and the setting of marvelous Patmos, near Chora, overlooking the blue Adriatic and the green hills and gardens kept up impecably the the order. Truly heavenly!

A beautiful, serene and unmissable place to visit. Is is an in credibly special and unique place. Not open fridays. Open 9-11 Mon- Thursday and 7-11 Sunday. Easy to walk to Hora from here along signposted road- takws about 10 minutes. Lovely homemade products to buy also like herbs, ointments, bee pollen and jams as well as religious artifacts.

Beautiful nunnery, very well taken care of, lush gardens and a very special atmosphere. It is worth going there on Good Saturday (Greek Orthodox Easter).

What’s the dress code? I absolutely know respectful dress but I mean spelling out what the suggested dress is for men and women?
