we had a great time on a rainy day thanks to Aris! texting on WhatsApp made for an easy connection, the lovely woman whose name I did not get met us at the police station are, an easy to find spot when we disembarked from our cruise ship. The windshield wipers were not working so we followed her to her shop, pleasant and charming people, fun to see the children playing in the front. The jeep worked great and then we had a lovely time driving around the island and exploring the wonderful shops, where our grandson bought a pair of jeans and I bought a beautiful silk scarf. Patmos offered the best shopping on our trip.
an international drivers license is required to rent; my husband went to the AAA office and got one for $25.
If you want to see the monastery and the cave you have to get there early in the morning as they close at lunchtime, wish we had known that ahead of time.

This rental location is not as easy to find, being up the hill a bit from the main street. The hike is worth it. The gentleman runs it with his daughter and is very friendly. Their rates are more reasonable than other places as well. When I returned my bike with a broken brake handle (and some anxiety over their reaction), they received me in a much better and more understanding fashion than I would have imagined. He asked if I like Patmos- and I certainly do! Seeing the friendliness of locals becomes a part of its charm. Zooming around on a scooter helps perhaps just a bit too

I am supposed to be their Top Tier loyalty program member, President Choice Club, a mouth full, , and have tested all discounts and rates as non member. It's all the same. You do not see anybdiscou t in price. All the same. Even when you get 25% off emails and a weird way to claim it from fine prints and a new Code, hidden in terms and conditions, it is never applied. What a way to appreciate loyal members.

We only had a few hours due to our cruise ship and didn't want to do the bus tour. Really, the only two major sites are the Grotto and Monistery, but a tour would stretch that out so that there would be little free time. So, we went on our own and rented a car from Aris. They were very friendly and remembered our emails and had a car waiting with gas! They are easy to find - follow the yellow signs. Also, remember to get an international driver's license which is easy through AAA - a local office may be able to do it same day if you call in advance. Having the car was the highlight of our trip!

We rented a scooter with them. They are extremly nice and everything went great! Better scooter and price than the years before at other places. Clear recommendation!
