We booked for mid afternoon as we were told it was quieter. Arrived and we ended up being alone for over 30 minutes, The manager was gentle spoken, knowledgeable and helpful, we sat down and were given a tray on our knees with bid seed...More

Wow what a wonderful experience this was. Don't take an organized tour here, just arrange with a local Taxi driver to take you. The drive is up a steep narrow road full or pot holes and you arrive at what looks like a private house...More

$40 per person to feed hummingbirds and walk around hoping to see other birds, which you may not. The hummingbird experience was amazing, but not worth the $80 my husband and I spent for what equated to a half hour of feeding birds and 2...More

Beyond the beaches and cocktails Jamaica is famous for, we found this tiny oasis of tranquility. It was mesmerizing to see the delicate "doctor birds" --gorgeous green-and-black, swallow-tailed symbols of Jamaica--up close. The hummingbirds are impossibly tiny, incredibly shiny creatures that come and perch on...More

Its quite a small garden smacked in the hills of Montego Bay. However it's a birdlovers paradise as they are many species of birds all living in the wild, the hummingbird being the star of the show, as you get to interact personally with this...More

I am sorry your family did not get to experience the full magic of Rocklands. Thank you for posting a heads up for people thinking of going at this time of year. For me, Rocklands is still my favourite place that I have visited on the island. :D

You have to sit very quietly for the birds to come to you. I don't know if young children could be this quiet. Rockland is a wonderful experience.

My friend and I are heading down to Negril at the end of January. We would really like to go to Rocklands. Does anyone think it would be possible to stop there on the day we leave Jamaica? Our flight back to the US is out of MBJ at 4:15pm. Also, anything else to do in the area on that day or should we just stick with Rocklands? Thank you.

Rocklands won't really be out of your way except where you turn off the main road. The closer you get to their place the worse the road gets. Personally I was a bit disappointed when I went here in October. The caretaker is very interesting and also takes you around the grounds and points out all sorts of things but I just didn't feel it was worth the money. We paid $15 just for the 'entrance fee' plus our transportation there. Then the guide there mentioned more than once that the $15 went...More
