It is going in to the country side of St James. Beautiful lush green hills you see locals. The road in that area is not in the best shape but we did not mind. The felt like they where on a adventure going up to the house. The brezze was welcoming. The hummingbirds showed up the children where amazed. So... More

I wish the hummingbirds on my back porch were as trusting as the ones at Rocklands. It is quite amazing to experience these delicate birds up close & personal. We are planning to go again this year on our trip to Montego bay!

Last week my family and I visited "Rocklands Bird Sanctuary". The guy who came outside to greet us, had a bad day I guess... He was not so friendly. However, we could have a seat and we got some sugar water to feed the hummingbirds with. It was a cloudy day and there was not so much sunshine. Therefore, the... More

Not the best road up to the house, but worth the visit. The hummingbirds are amazing. It is really neat to be able to feed them.

This was an expensive tour for what it is. It is a house up on a mountain that you can feed humming birds. It is an amazing experience, but only if you value interacting with nature. It costs $20 and you sit with birds flying around. I loved it, but I value unique experiences. especially with nature. It is small... More

We had the opportunity to visit Rocklands on Wed March 23rd, 2016. Fritz showed us how to hold the bottles so that the hummingbirds would sit on our fingers and drink from the bottle. It was a most fascinating experience and a few members of our group noted that it was the most enjoyable experience of the trip to Jamaica.... More

This was a fantastic place for birding. We saw all three species of hummingbirds and had red-billed streamtails perch on our fingers to sip nectar. There are a number of short trails to take and plenty of birds to observe. We saw a number of endemics while we were there including the Jamaican Mango, Jamaican Crow, Orangequit, Jamaican Oriole as... More

Although it is probably not the cheapest thing to do on the island the chance to sit and feed humming birds is one that you really shouldn't miss. The birds come to your hand, and if you get the position of your finger just right they will settle on your finger when feeding from the bottle. A lot of the... More

OK, so it's pretty cool to hand feed the hummingbirds, but is it really worth $20? There's a brief tour of the public hiking path behind the home, perhaps as a way to justify the cost. Then the tour guide hits you up for a tip.
