If you want to hike, definitely suggests to take Little Bear's Trail (12km).

It has breath ranking views and scenery changes all the time. Trail is very clearly marked so you cannot get lost. Lot of stairs and variation in heights makes it little rough exercise but dont let it stop you. We had a 7 year old who managed to complete so basic fitness will do just fine.

If 12kms dont intrigue, try to walk about 2kms to Myllykoski, you get to see a really nice raft and two hanging bridges.

Passable walking trails for people without disabilities. Not passable by wheelchair, or elderly.

Breathtaking waterfalls and sounds of nature.

We were here only one day but the park require much more time. The well-kept and well-marked paths are very beautiful. I wasn't able to met some wildlife but I'm happy anyway to have been there

well marked trail, beautiful views. Snowshoes are not needed, even when there is lots of snow - only the stairs can be difficult/slippery.

Easy to navigate with clear direction to which path to hike. It's suitable for all ages from children to the elderly even during the winter. Everything is very well maintained and the view is stunning. Bring enough light if you're planning to hike after the sunset during winter.

We had a fantastic week staying at the Oulanka National Visitor Centre over Christmas. Our leader for the week was Anna.
During the week, we went snowshoeing, cross country skiing, went hiking and made quinzees. The centre is perfectly placed by a lake right on the Little Bear trail. The staff are brilliant, the food is fantastic and they provide all the equipment you need.
We had a fantastic week. The only thing missing was the Northern lights, but that just means we will need to come back! We booked our holiday with Exodus.

My mother is from this region and we have been visiting the Oulanka National Park Visitor Center and the related nature path as long as I can remember. It has great facilities and evolves constantly. Before or after your visit you can ask the personnel to show you informative films about Finnish nature and the national park system.

Visitor centre about 1 km from Kiutaköngäs rapids. An oasis of civilization on the Karhunkierros hiking trail. The rapids are just magnificent, in the middle of nowhere.

The Park Information Center is a nice place to start and finish a hike. The staff is friendly and takes the time to explain the specialities of each trail as well as the required skills and condition. We walked the Savilampi trail,4/5 the Könkään keino Trail, 8 km, 5/5 and the Pieni Karhunkierros Trail, 12 km 5/5. TV screens show the things you will see including the animals which are living in the area such as bears, linx, elks, rendeers, etc. There is a restaurant serving each day a lunch set as well as simple dishes such as a tasty juicy rendeer burger. We choose the lunch set of the day, salmon soupe 5/5, salad 5/5 and coffee 4/5 as well as a rendeer burger. 5/5 Splendid center and park. 5/5

We went on a flying visit to Oulanka looking for variety after exploring the north. Oulanka was very different from what we had seen up until that point in terms of landscape and scenery but was also much busier. Some of the trails were crowded with people and it is easy to see how this area could soon fill up. Fortunately we walked far enough to escape to crowds and enjoyed fantastic views of the oulankajoki river. Excellent waxwings feeding on berries all around us
