    Harder walk than it looks
Walking down the road to the waterfall is very slippery with moss so you have to be careful. There are 5 levels you can access. It's a beautiful place but very hard to walk/climb. There is a walking path for about 300m but after that you are climbing over rocks to get any further. I found it hard to walk and slipped over hurting my knee so only got to level 2. My husband walked further up to level 4 but found it very hard to access level 5. You can buy food to feed the fish which is really cool. Lots of beautiful butterflies.

Great sights and a good hike
We arranged the trip to the national Park by asking a taxi driver in Hua Hin nigh market about prices etc. He picked us from the hotel and waited at the Park Gates while we went sight seeing for about 2 hours. The travel took about 1 hour. Price of taxi was 1600 baht (41€) and Park fees from 2 adults 2 children 900 baht (23€). At the Gates they sold fish food for 10baht a bag. There are thousands of carp in river; feeding them was a fun activity. There is also a small kiosk that sells refreshments but no actual food besides cup noodles. The waterfall is 11 tiered but you can only climb the 5 first levels as rest are on Myanmar side of the border. It took us about 1,5 hours to climb. Bring enough water for it is warm and humid. Climbing is quite challenging at points and you will need to cross the rapid by stones at one point so good shoes are must. Our 6 year old had no trouble on the trail.

    Amazing butterflies
About an hour taxi ride from Hua Hin. Our kids are into entomology, especially butterflies and the sheer volume of butterflies on this hike was astounding! We hiked with 4 kids ages 7 to 14 to the fourth waterfall and then swam by the waterfall and fed the carp with 100 baht fish food available at waterfall entrance. If you have little kids ages 5 and under, getting to the first and possibly second falls is very doable. It is 800 meters to the 5th falls from entrance. On the way to the 3rd/4th falls, you climb over rocks/boulders and rope handholds are available. There are some very steep dropoffs from trail to water below so we pointed this out to the kids and kept our younger kids close to us. Some of us hiked in tennis shoes and some in flipflops/barefoot. We loved each of the 3 activities we did today (Treetop Adventure, Hutsadin Elephants, and Pala U), but this was 3 of our kids' favorite. We spent about 1 hour 30 minutes hiking/swimming. Also, we ate lunch at the Pala U Cafe before the park entrance and it was idyllic, hammocks, tree swing, amazing views. We could have easily spent a couple hours at the Cafe relaxing.

Our hotel staff thought it cost 100 Bhat/person to get in. We saw another board which stated 200 Bhat/person but they actually charged us 300 Bhat per person! It is pretty but really not worth it. I'd go somewhere else than there - it is a nice walk but nothing special and there were HUNDREDS of gross fish that pretty much attack you if you go into the pools.

Our walk was adventurous to say the least - but great fun! Defo go prepared to get wet in rainy season.

Path up to level 3 is pretty simple but then there are some really slippy rocks to get past to access steep climb through trees via some steps to level 4.

There was no easy way to get to level 5 due to water level (high water levels due to rainy season) so we dumped stuff and swam across - great fun for family!

Entry was 300 baht for adult, 150 for kids and 30 for car. Took 1.5 from Hua Hin in local taxi costing 1700 baht.

There are toilets at start and somewhere to buy food (was not open). We arrived 9.30 and had the place to ourselves until 11.30/12 when on way back down.

Had a great time at the waterfalls. There are five stages but all quite easy. A few big rocks to get over but it was all part of the fun. Get some fish food and feed the carp. They will swim all around you. We went all the way to the last falls and took a dip. Was so refreshing. We had three kids, 10, 12 and 17 and we all managed with no issues. Highly recommend for a fun day out. Oh and on the way there you could possibly see a wild elephant. You have to drive through the area they live and you'll see massive elephant poo on the side of the road.

What a beautiful nature and fun hike with friends. I just wish we were allowed to hike all the way up. We were only allowed to go to level 5. But still a great experience. Specially all the beautiful butterflies.

We went to visit the water fall but once I realised a foreigner has to pay 10 times what a Thai does we as a family decided not to enter the park, if a foreigner visits the UK the UK government does not charged them any more than a UK citizen, take note Thailand or start to loose tourists

The waterfalls are located about 30 miles from Hua Hin and are well worth a day trip to. Pack your swimmers so you can cool of in the various different pools! Along with the fish. It costs 300B per person and 30B per car. At the start there is a small gift shop, toilets and refreshments before you start your trek. There are 5 different levels of the waterfalls accessible through the jungle paths. It’s steep in parts and requires some climbing over rocks so would advise trainers but I was fine in my flip flops. Each level has a pool to dip in before making the journey to the next level and in all it’s probably about 500-750 meters from bottom to top.

My wife and I were recommende to this place by Lorraine at Buffalo Bills. As we rented a car for our stay in Hua Hin the journey to the waterfall was not a hassle.Going into the falls we encountered a troop of about 50 wild monkeys walking along the side of the road. We must have spent 15 minutes just watching the antics of these animals. The waterfall itself was a good experience but we did not climb very far as it was hot and we are old. Going home we were lucky enough to encounter a wild elephant on the road. We could hear his herd in the jungle next to the road but we only saw the one.It was a highlight of our month in Thailand.

We went through Hua Hin Adventure Tours and a meal was included in the price. Wear good shoes as you need to trek - so no proper paths to walk up - and take a bottle of water. We went to level 4 but had time to stop at each level. Our guide pointed out things of interest and made sure the group stayed together, helping us through the more difficult spots. Couldn't believe the amount of butterflies there. Water teeming with carp and you can swim there too. Highlight was seeing a wild elephant walking down the road. Popular with both locals and tourists.

We drove from Hua Hin. Stopped to buy grilled chicken, sticky rice and papaya salad when we almost reached the fall for our picnic. However, if you miss this, there are more grilled chicken being sold at the fall. However, I read that this stall is not always opened. The distance from the carpark to the 1st level of the fall was pretty close. However, you are only allowed to bring food up to the 1st level. Therefore, we had out picnic there, right by the water's edge. The guards made sure that only drinks are allowed to be brought up to the next level. We went up till the 3rd level of the fall. Till then the path was OK but at times we had to hold on to the ropes attached to the side. It got a bit 'exciting' in some places. Apparently the higher you go the nicer the fall. It goes up till level 15. However, the water wasn't the clearest.
We were there on the weekend so there were lots of people. If you have a choice, do go on the weekdays instead.
There is a shower and toilet facility near 1st level.
This waterfall is in the national park. On our way out we encountered wild elephants crossing the road! That was really exciting but also nerve wracking since we are used to being close to tame elephants in elephant camps but these were really wild ones! Especially the 1st one we saw was huge and alone and it was zig zagging the road ahead of us and we were not sure what it was going to do next. The next lot was a whole herd of them including juniors! They crossed the road right in front of our car and then some trumpeted loudly - calling the rest that haven't crossed over. It was really exciting but we dared not stop the car.
If you have spare time and transportation, do visit Pala-u. If I'm not mistaken it took us 1.5hrs (60km) so you need to leave early from Hua Hin.
Being in a national park, there is a charge. Very cheap for locals but foreigners pay THB200.
