Lovely day at the hot springs, we used the two hot pools and cooled off in the river, followed by a massage and a meal of grilled meat and papaya salad at one of the local restaurants. It is mainly used by Thai people. Some lockers are available but we left our bags in our view. I would recommend coming here for a visit.

If you think to go to a thermal center or to a luxury SPA change soon your mind...These hot springs are a local attraction, many Thai and may be two “Farang” (me and my wife....:-), not very clean but nothing bad, you find three pools with different temperatures, one pool just for the Monks, a cold river and some shower rooms...local people don’t have bath with bikini or similar, really often wearing long trousers and shirt...please respect that...outside the spring waters, some places where eating some Thai food...last restaurant after the parking is managed by an old Thai lady...for few BAT you can enjoy a wonderful papaya salad and bbq chicken...

We went to these springs and was initially quite impressed, water a balmy 41 degrees, changing rooms and showers and lockers for hire at 20 bht. There is a river running along side and surrounded by trees. Women are requested not to enter if on their period but honestly, that's the least of their concerns. The place is busy with loads of Asian tourists and seriously demonstrated highly questionable hygiene practices. I saw people cutting their nails, brushing their teeth and spitting out, and shaving IN THE SPRINGS!!!!! I couldn't get out quick enough. There were staff about but no one said anything. Utterly gross and if that's your thing then fine but I find nothing relaxing about sitting in people's spit with cruddy toe nails floating by....

I've been to a few hot springs in Thailand and the US, and when compared to western standards, this one just isn't up to snuff. It's overcrowded, a bit run down and somewhat dirty.
I would have given this place 2 stars, but since they charge based on skin color (white people pay more) I will knock a star off and give this place 1 star.
If you're visiting Thailand, I would not recommend wasting your time here. Even if you live here and like hot springs, this one is not worth it.

We went on the Saturday of a public holiday weekend which was probably a mistake. So busy that it was hard to find a spot to get into the hot pools as so many Thais sitting round the edge.
Not relaxing and the whole place is run down even by Thai standards.
It's very cheap to enter and I think on a quiet day could be quite relaxing.

No wonder the Japanese loved this place.
The hot spring is from water touching hot stone bed so there is no smell just
pure hot water to enjoy. The spring are just on the river bank so you can also
dip in the cold water - not for kids - strong current.
The place as all in Thailand is in bad situation and can be much improved but
we are here for the hot water which are just great for end of trip....

We stopped here after our grueling 3.5 hour walk of the Hellfire Pass trail. It was blissful to chill out and soak our weary bodies in the hot water but the site itself is nothing special. There are three hot pools adjacent to the river so you soak in the hot pool then hop out into the cold river - it's quite refreshing! Very basic facilities but there are change rooms and there are sit-toilets available. No bikinis - this is frowned upon. Walk carefully as the wet stones are slippery.

We just took a bus from Kanchanaburi bus station as we didn't want to pay a fortune for a 1 day package tour. It was 65 baht for the 2 hour journey, in a comfy A/C bus. The springs are lovely - 3 pools plus the river to cool down in. We spent about 2 1/2 lazing around. It was very quiet, just a few thai families and 2 monks (they have their own private pool).
It's a lovely trip but it is a long way from Kanchanaburi town.

According to my cars trip meter the springs are about 130kms from Kanchanaburi and straight up the 323 and on the right hand side, reasonably sign posted once you are near them. You will know for sure as you turn right as there is a large sign post stating so. If traveling in your car there is a car park on the right hand side opposite the entrance, don’t try to go into the entrance as it is for tour buses only. The ticket booth is straight down the road on your left hand side and well sign posted, 20 Baht per person is what I was charged but I did see Thai writing stating foreigners 60 Baht.
Walk down to the entrance and your ticket will be checked then walk across a wooden bridge to the pools. At the other end of the bridge the Thais get full points in my estimation as there is a pool for the disabled on the right, they have it covered from the elements and people there to help if required, I checked and it is very accessible. Turn left and a very short walk takes you to the 3 other pools, above that are toilets, showers, lockers and changing rooms, there is even a mini mart there. You can change by the side of the pools if you wish and leave belongings there which I have done several times and I have never known of a problem but it was at my own risk. I was told by a local the temperatures of the pools are: the one nearest the bridge is 38 degrees, the middle one 42 degrees and the other 40 degrees and the heat is created by volcanic action. After you have finished and trust me you will know as in the hottest one you will be sweating if you stay long enough you can cool down in the river which is only a few meters, yards away or use the showers provided. The amenities are at a basic level but more than suffice and if they keep the entry fee accordingly I will be more than happy to continue coming here. After the refreshing soak there is plenty of little shops to get whatever snacks, fruit drinks or indeed iced coffee or my favourite iced tea with milk (cha num yen). Highly recommended.

A couple pools to sit and relax in. And then a cold river to refresh yourself. Many locals hanging out and chatting with you as well as a couple tourists.
