Drove in traffic 2hrs all the way to see the waterfalls just to find out that you cant even go in the water to enjoy the falls due to covid19 big joke where are the brains when even government has allowed bars and karaoke to operate. On top of that they have double standard tickets for thais is 100 and foreigner is 300 even if you have a resident and workpermit you are a foreigner.
I mean this is extreme what impression are the trying to put on.
But who cares anyway right at least they should have put up sign boards on the way so people don't waste time.
The only good thing was the food market on pre entering amazing thai food.
And nice people

We went as part of a tour and spent about 6 hours including a very nice lunch. I made it to level 6 1/2 but did not make it all the way to the top a 7. Only 2 people in our group of 16 made it all the way to the top of 7. It is an interesting hike but we saw several much younger people take serious falls all coming back down. Most of the people opted to swim at the lower levels of the park.

Still applying the 2prices for Thais and Foreigners.
Even i am married to a Thai, have a daughter and live/ working here paying my taxes for 15 years.
During these difficult times without tourists from overseas you should learn to respect a bit more the ones who live here and can still help you to survive.

There are 7 tiers and the water may not be as nice as the photos online but I think it is still worthwhile to visit if you like waterfalls. We hired a private driver to driver from Bkk to the area.
Did not swim in the waters as I was afraid of the fishes. Do not trek with slippers as some of the climbing might be slippery and will require shoes. Best if you use a pair of water shoes. I slipped and fell despite having water shoes but only sustained minor injuries. Overall, a pleasant experience with acceptable weather conditions.

Pleasant route going up a river and 7 waterfalls. You can bathe at least your feet and small fish come to clean your skin. Access by taxi from Kanchanaburi (the much cheaper bus is armored).

I advise to be in good physical condition to visit the 7 waterfalls of this park on a 1.5km route. During my ascent, the flow was not enough to highlight the beauty of these waterfalls. Take the opportunity to swim in the pools and be cleaned by the fish.

The worst place to be. There are no safety awareness. Irresponsible crew . We pay for 17 platform at zip lines. After 2 accidents (2/3 people) we decided to continue. Finally they follow les than the half route and ask about refund. They give as back only 10%. Avoid this place.

We read that there are a lot of tourists in the afternoon in the erawan waterfall so we decided to go camping in the park to get to the waterfall early in the morning and escape the crowds.
We took a local bus (50 bath) to the erawan national park that dropped us at the entrance of the park after buying the entrance ticket. There we had to walk 5min to the camping grounds to rent a tent.
There were differents sizes of tents for different prices (50, 90, 150 i think) and you could rent a comfortable sleeping mat and a good cushion for less then 50 bath together. The nice thing is that you can chose where you put your tent and the views of the river and the mountains are beautiful. There are a lot of toilets, showers and toilet paper, so it is easy camping!
In the evening we met some nice people while hanging out on the floating platform in the river. We ate a good and afforable dinner at the parking and had a good night sleep. In the morning we went to the view platform between tires 2 and 3 to see the sunrise, beautiful!
After breakfast we went up and we had the whole waterfall for ourselfs until tire 4. Very beautiful and wonderfull to be the only one swimming in the waterfall and hearing all the birds.
By the 6th tire (it was 11 am) there were a lot of other people and a lot of bees but is was still stunning.
Bring some good walking shoes, because the hike to the top is slippery and not easy. In the waterfall there a loads of fishes, some nibble your feet/legs. They don't hurt or harm you, but if you dont like it, just keep moving all the time in the water and they leave you alone. Best to take some insect repellent also.

Be aware you can find lodging in the Erawan National Park. The Erawan National Park has bungalows for hire in a very nice location not far from the entry of the park. The rooms are air-conditioned and have a fridge. Count 400 Baht/pp/night in the weekends. Food and drinks can be consumed at the shops near the parking area. There is also a camping site to pitch your tent. There are two main trails; one to the Erawan Falls and another one to the Phra That Cave. Another Point of Interest in the vicinity is of course the Sri Nakharin Dam and its storage reservoir, the Sri Nakharin Lake. Bookings can be done via the official website www.dnp.go.th. Notice that even if you stay overnight you have to pay the National Park entry fee.

This is my 1st trip to the park...and I think, a few more visits will be planned in the future...
it's such a nice and well-managed park. Nice eateries just at park entrance, 7 tiers of waterfalls to choose, subject to your leg power and time availablity...the following is my tips for a more enjoyable visit:
1) Go early to avoid the hordes of mass tourists..730am+,so you can get better pics and enjoy a nice swim...
2) Take a good meal at eateries just at entrance area...a hungry stomach will spoil your day
3) Good walking flip-flops, sandals, ...settle your swimming costume at entrance changing room
4) Take a tripod for better waterfall effect
5) Pools at the waterfall are deep, non-swimmers to stay away. Water are cold -12-15'C. Legs may get cramped.
6) "Foot massage" by fishes in the ponds...not recommended if you can't stand the itchiness...these are big fishes...not the little ones in foot-massage tanks in cities
7) Bring insects repellent
8) Don't feed the monkeys
9) Respect the eco-environment....and inhabitants
10) Most will like tiers no.2 & 4...for easy access....but if time permit, tier 7 is the apex.
One more advice: YOU will love it !

Is it cheaper to Grab there from Bangkok, or to hire a private driver?
Written November 21, 2018
Hiring a personal driver will allow you to manage your own time at the park. Just make sure you leave early, so you can have maximum time exploring the falls. I don't know how much a personal driver will charge. I would research the cost against doing a tour and then negotiate the price accordingly. If you decide on a group tour, be sure to find out how much time they allow you to have at the park. Also, research different tour companies to find the best one. Look at online reviews amd ask at your hotel. Have fun!

Hi, I was wondering the same, how did you manage in the end? Thanks in advance!

Is there bus/taxi/songteow from Erawan falls to Nam Tok?
Written December 23, 2016
can you clarify what do you mean by Nam Tok? Nam Tok is the Thai word for waterfall.
do you mean from kanchanaburi to erawan?

Voor mensen met backpacks: kun je daar ergens veilig een backpack bewaakt achterlaten zodat je de watervallen kan bekijken?
Written June 8, 2015
Yes. There is a guard at a shelter at the 2nd or 3rd waterfall where you are supposed to leave all of your bags. I have heard that you are not supposed to take food etc farther up the trail to see the rest of the waterfalls.

Dogs are not allowed. There is a big sign at the entrance. We didn't know, went there with our dog and they didn't let us in.

Bonjour,

How steep is walk to top of falls I am reasonable fit 83 could I do it
Written February 4, 2015
I think you can do it. You can take up a stick to support yourself if you do not feel confident. Except for the road to 5th to the top most tier, the rest of the places aren't that steep. Good luck!
