This is more than just a waterfall as reaching it involves a short trek through the rainforest. It’s not the easiest walk and anyone with mobility problems would struggle but it really is worth the effort. The scenery is magnificent…many of the trees are identified by metal labels and there are very helpful, and well maintained information boards along the route. Don’t rush! There’s so much to see even before you hear the water!
It’s obviously better to go in the rainy season as the water volume will be much greater. We went fairly early so it was quiet and initially we were the only people at the waterfall although that didn’t last long!
You need good footwear…flip flops aren’t really suitable particularly in the wet season. Camera/phone batteries need to be well charged.
There’s a large car park and if you’ve bought a National Park ticket at another waterfall, you don’t need to pay again despite what staff might say-particularly to foreigners!
The attraction is well worth visiting…and not just for the waterfall.

A fabulous waterfall and nature trial, you can swim in the refreshing waters and have a massage under the waterfall. Well signposted from route 4. Worth a visit.

Firstly I would advise you to stop by the visitor hut and make sure you have a ticket. I didn’t realise I needed one and was happy to by one which I did on the way back. If you don’t get one first you might get a mildly rude lady asking you to purchase one. It’s only 120 baht and then you can use this to visit other waterfalls.

Before you get to the waterfall there is a nice area where you can picnic, use the toilet, and buy some water.

I would advise you to wear trainers or sturdy shoes not flip flops. The water fall is maybe a 10-15 min walk from the car park max but you are walking through rainforest so be prepared for the ground to be uneven in places and you have to climb over tree roots.

On the way to the waterfall there are some information boards which tell you about the local flora and fauna.

When I got to the waterfall there were two other small groups there enjoying a swim in the water. The waterfall itself is pretty but far from spectacular.

Overall a pleasant way to spend an afternoon and if you have the time worth a visit

We had a great time here it takes about 1 hour on the bike from khao lak
If you do tonprai ...Lampi waterfall and lam ru national park all on the same day you only pay one admittance fee now that is value for money ... We have visited many waterfalls in thailand and these 2 are easy access a little walking but no rock climbing which is good news
Well worth a visit we thoroughly enjoyed our day out
