- KostieManchester, United Kingdom266 contributionsEnjoyable but could of spent half a day elsewhereIt was ok, very busy and crowded. 400 Bhat each to get in and after an hour or so in the Emerald Pool you’re pretty much done. The other pools and for viewing only and for us it was nice but that’s about it, wouldn’t go back or highly recommend.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 30, 2024
- Avi_crSingapore, Singapore35 contributionsAmzing experince to Witness the Nature at its bestWorth the visit once. Great jungle trekking and good walk.Luckily it was less crowded when we visited and the water quality is amazing. Crystal clear water and you feel great a dip in the pool. Do not forget to visit Blue pool. It is just another 600 m walk from Emerald pool.Worth to witnness the natural wonders.Visited June 2024Traveled with familyWritten June 8, 2024
- Venkatesh BDubai, United Arab Emirates48 contributionsBeauty in the middle of no where.Wow. Just wow. This place is a hidden gem. We rode our bike from Ao Nang, a 1.5-hour trip, but the journey was fabulous. The road was so pleasant that it made the ride truly enjoyable. When we arrived, we purchased a ticket for 400 baht and embarked on a 1 km hike through lush greenery. Reaching the Emerald Pool was magical. We took a dip, swam, and took pictures. About 600 meters from the Emerald Pool is the Blue Pool, which is breathtaking, although swimming is not allowed.Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 23, 2024
- Chris579 contributionsNature did her best, people deserve the maximum of it for themselvesIf you came through the tourist mania and over the and past the parking lot. Then you marvel again. 400 Bth for tourists per person and the Thai 20 Bth?! Nice walk through nature on a well laid out and evidenced path. If you pay attention you might see an iguana. Beautiful emerald pool, you can swim and bathe. If you take the trouble to walk 600 meters to get to the blue pool. Beautiful! Only you can not swim. All in all worthwhile. - KhalilBahrain293 contributionsGreat view in KrabiEmerald Pool Trip Highlights What's Good: * Natural Beauty: A stunning pool nestled in the jungle, perfect for swimming alongside fish. * Scenic Walk: The jungle trail to the pool is lovely. * Family Fun: We made great memories together. * Coffee Break: A convenient cafe for drinks. * Clean Facilities: Restrooms were well-maintained and accessible. What Could Be Better: * No Food Allowed: This was a bit tough with kids. * Staff Training: Some staff members near the pool need training in guest interaction. Some of the staff around pool are rude with travellers.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 11, 2024
- jeff pBangkok, Thailand58 contributionsGreat pool, but in Thai style triple the price for foreigners to enterGreat place to visit on a hot Krabi day. Very scenic and pool is cooler than beach. A few traps to be aware of. Car park will cost you 40 bhat. Entrance fee 400 Bhat for foreigners, 30 Bhat if you are Thai. No food or drink can be taken in, but can be purchased inside at double the normal price. Despite feeling ripped off, it's a great pool and well worth the 1hr drive out from Krabi. Restaurants outside the entrance are average, I'd give a miss and grab something to eat back in townVisited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 14, 2024
- Harold1971Dubai, United Arab Emirates758 contributionsFantastic experience in Emerald natural pool.As part of a daily excursion we visited the Emerald pool. From the parking spot, where the bus was parked, it was a very pleasant short walk to this exceptional natural pool in the tropical rain forest. I would strongly recommend everybody to visit it when you are around. The water is warm and clear and the color is simply amazing. Please bring water shoes.Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 28, 2024
- Paul C1 contributionGreat experience, but at what price. The 1000 metre long path to the pool through the rainforest was very enjoyable and not at all arduous. The pool is crystal clear and the water felt therapeutic. A couple of degrees below body temperature; extremely comfortable. Getting into the pool was made safer by non-slip steps, though a hand rail for we old folks would have been welcome as we hauled ourselves out. The big drawback was the entry fee: 400 B (11 Euros) for adults, 200B for nationals. Too expensive for a natural phenomenon on the people’s land.Visited October 2024Traveled with familyWritten October 11, 2024
- samitdebSingapore, Singapore133 contributionsPleasant experience, natures wonder but comes with a hefty price tagThis is really a good attraction with three pools and a nice nature trail. The Emareld pool is a bit crowded and had a nice warm feeling, Blue pool which is 600 mtrs from Emareld pool looks amazing. Crystal pool is nothing to speak of- u can spend some nice quality time appreciating blue pool and swiming in Emareld pool ( note Blue pool is not for swiming as is Crystal pool). However it comes with a hefty price tag of 400THB - not sure if with this price tag it still can get the same footfalls in the days to comeVisited November 2024Traveled with familyWritten November 23, 2024
- ColemereBristol, United Kingdom182 contributionsPretty but overcrowded and expensiveThe emerald pool is a lovely place to swim but extremely busy, for the price of 400 baht per adult it would be nice if they controlled the numbers more because there are so many good free swim spots in thailand. The blue pool also closed early at 3:30, so we were unable to see it, maybe we missed a sign but I don’t think this was made very clear and as before mentioned for the price was something i definitely wanted to include. The boardwalk through the forrest is definitely a highlight, take the longer route if you do plan to visit. The toilets by the pool are squat and full of a layer of murky water, again for the high price this was actually grim and completely unexpected. This is definitely a better suited family attraction than for travellers or solo tourists - but if you go maybe head as soon as it opens to enjoy the quiet betterVisited November 2024Traveled with friendsWritten November 24, 2024

On my last visit, Sapphire Lake was closed (open from January to April), but this time I finally looked at it. You can't swim in it.
Very beautiful, peace and quiet, a very peaceful sight... but only for once.
Emerald Lake is also not bad, you can swim in it, and there is even a small waterfall.
The most important thing is to arrive with your own transport in the morning, just before the lakes open, before crowds of tourists arrive on buses.

Initially thought that 400BHT was okay but after having actually been to the pool I think it is totally over rated and not worth the 400bht. 200 seems a fairer price and I don't mind paying more as a foreigner.
The actual walk to the pools was lovely, along a really good path through shaded jungle. It is well maintained and an easy 800 or 1000 m walk.
The pool itself is okay but dependent on weather conditions and sky clarity to get that real emerald colour. Unfortunately when we went sky was quite hazy and therefor the pool was not as spectacular as pictures I'd seen.
It was also packed with people - was during school holiday and the day before Songkran, so unsurprisingly there were a lot of locals in addition to the foreigners/tourists.
Just a pity they are milking the tourists dry as I don't think the 400bht is worth it.

Mixed feelings. The park around is a beautiful jungle with a nice trail offering views on undisturbed clear waters and swamp areas which is beautiful indeed. Also the crystal pools itself really are beautiful and if you're lucky enough to not arrive at the same time as a big tourbus it's not too busy. The water is a nice temperature and beautifully clear. But then that's it, there's no place to sit do2n and get changed and the worst is that the entrance fee has doubled overtime, its now 400baht per person whereas locals pay 30. I find that quite ridiculous, also our bags were checked upon arrival for food whereas locals could walk in with food. Lastly to charge a high amount of money for a nature park to me doesn't sit well, the pool is small and waters like this honestly can be seen for free all around the area. Its very overhyped on marketing terms, and to me it wasn't worth the 1.5h drive from krabi

It is a beautiful emerald lake in the national park.
It is located in a national park and has a guard at the entrance.
The trail trail trail is fully paved at 1,400 metres, while a straight gravel road reaches the Emerald Pool at 800 metres.
From the entrance, we took a trail trail trail to the Emerald Pool and took the gravel road back.
The trail course is narrow, with no elevation difference, with bridges over wetlands.
The Emerald Pool can be swam with small fish.
The water temperature is warm because hot springs are flowing in.
There were places where I couldn't get my feet because of the gusset of depth.
Please be careful with small children
On a side note, we went on a jungle tour and had lunch at a restaurant in front of the park.
It is a tourist destination restaurant, but it was delicious with seasoning from the menu of a country set restaurant.

Well the Emerald pool itself was really nice and a good activity. However, the staff are atrocious and rude. We turned up now paying 400 baht entry fees and were spoken down upon and not allowed to actually visit the blue pool which is further on from the Emerald pool. For that price as a tourist in Thailand feels nigh on illegal to not get full value and for staff to be rude about it too is criminal. Would not recommend on that basis.

See this place raves about everywhere so thought we best check it out but honestly it’s not worth the hour drive and 400 baht entrance fee. The pool is underwhelming and busy. The best part was the blue lagoon. Would recommend skipping the emerald pool and heading to the hot springs nearby was a much better experience.

Sadly this was the least worthy of our time and money to go and see.
After driving out to the location and seeing all the signs say no swimming allowed we proceeded to pay the high 200 Baht per person entry and left out bathers in the car.
After the 800 m walk there we found plenty of people swimming and a sign saying that you have to register with the staff. All looked a bit unofficial to me. The toilets were the worst I had had to use in recent times mostly flooded.
Apart from the water being clear, it's not very green and many photos don't show the other side of the pool that looks more like a quarry.
When comparing the entry fee to Maya Bay and all the snorkelling for the same money this should be no more than 50 Baht.

Well worth the visit, very busy spot and it's a 2 KLM walk from the carpark. Pool is refreshing and there is shade around the edge from the trees.
All food and drinks are stopped at the entrance forcing you to buy once you get in from the parks dept shop.
Like most Thailand attractions tourists are charged extra. The tourist tax is just another rip off that I hate about Thailand. Expect to pay for carparking too. Restaurants outside entrance are good

Wednesday 17th January we visited and swam in this pool with it's warm almost luminous coloured waters.
The Pool is located one thousand metres along a nature trail inside the Khao Pra Bang Kharm Wildlife Sanctuary.
The pool itself varies from between one to two metres deep it is surrounded by limestone rocks and jungle. It is called Emerald Pool due the colour of the water which is caused by it's high limestone and mineral content.
We enjoyed the experience of bobbing around in the water talking to other bathers, complete strangers, there was a real happy mood in the pool.
After our swim we dried off in the sunshine sitting on our towels.
Do take care when getting in and out of the Pool, the limestone rocks were rather slippery underfoot in places, our Guide showed us the safest entry points.
Not sure if there were any health benefits to swimming in the pool, apart from being a bit of fun in warm water.
Would definitely recommend wearing bathing shoes when swimming here.

The Emerald pool was green, brilliant swim. Just the walk from the car park to here was though serene green patch of trees.
For the blue pool - you would have to walk another 15 mins - you cannot swim at the blue pool, but it’s just so eye pleasing and picturesque.

Hi is there any locker facilities to keep our things safe before going out for a swim

Is it true that they have increased the entrance fee to 400 baht for foreigners? I could not find any latest information on that.

Yes. it was 200baht, but now it's 400baht. It's too pricy for that kind of experience. Not worth it.

When it is referred that hotel pick up is possible, does this include from Ao Nang (Deevana Plaza Krabi So Nang)? Thank you
Written January 13, 2020
Need to check with your tour operator. Some will incur extra charge for tourist from aonang due to longer distance than Krabi town.

How can i get to emerald pool from ao nang without joining the tour/package?
Written December 2, 2019
Rent a scooter but it will be a long ride. 70-75 KM from Aonang. About 1 hour 30 minutes ride.
Search for emerald pool from google maps. It has the correct location. You will see welcome board once arrived.

Which of the 2 between emerald pool & hot springs is more enjoyable?
Was thinking of coming in early at 8am for about an hour to the emerald pool, before heading to the hot spring and leaving before noon.
Is it better to visit the emerald pool first before hot springs or vice versa?
Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.
Written July 9, 2018
I personally feel hot spring is more enjoyable than emerald pool. May be I went to hot spring earlier, it has lesser tourist and the water is clean. Compared to emerald pool, you gonna walk bout 20 minutes to the pool which take more time.
