This is what you call a classic tourist trap. All the websites recommend this but in reality it’s nothing special and just full of tourists in a really small place. Same goes for Emerald pool, definitely overrated! We went with the Cattery travel and tours and payed 1100 Baht (30€) per person for sitting in a van for more than four hours - the destination is one hour from Krabi and of course you make a million stops, which nobody tells you why are necessary. You are at the place for around 1h each, one hour hot springs and one hour Emerald pool… It’s called a tour yet nobody tells you anything. Don’t go here, waste of time.

We hired a car for the day and got here at about 1130. There were a few people but not overcrowded. The warmth of the pool was amazing and you could have sat in the water for as long as you like. It was very relaxing and a very beautiful place to see in its natural form. The entrance fee is price of a cocktail so really not expensive at all and worth it. Best to go not on a tour as that way you are not rushed. After enjoying the warm water, climb down and dive into the pool at the bottom. Very refreshing and ladder is there is allow easy access from the water

We arrived by private taxi, all well and good.
The entrance is large, with the usual temperature testing at this time. The staff working at this hot spring were unhelpful to the point of being rather rude. No help, no advice, nothing on what could be expected. When we asked for directions a cursory wave of an arm in a general direction and a grunt was all we received.
The Hot spring waterfall is quite fantastic, after we eventually found it. Hardly anybody around, so we thoroughly enjoyed taking our time in the hot water.
A great time was being had by the whole family, until we realised when we were on our way home that we had had our money stollen from our wallet. No sign of lockers and with so few people around, it had to have been taken by somebody that we spoke to and said hello to. A real shame to end the experience in this way, left a very bitter taste in the mouth!

When we were there at 11:30am on August, only two couples were in hot spring. We were third one.
Main road is wide and nobody is there. I recommend you take the side jungle path to the hot spring. Do not go straight, and turn right into the jungle path.
Waterfall is like jet path. There was only us in the place of waterfall.
I can recommend this hot stream when few people visit since it is a small place.
200 THB is worth for like private hot spring.

Made a trip with private driver from Ao Nang - family of 4. Driver took 2000 Bath for trip to hot springs, emerald pools and tiger cave temple. This would be best option for families as tour companies would take a lot more . Hot springs as we came in afternoon just after rainfall was practically empty. Main pool was completely empty and we could use it alone. Natural spring and waterfall was really nice , roks where not slippery apparently minerals from spring doesn't let woks become slippery. So even kids could walk on them be safe.
Definitely suggest visiting this place.

My traveling companions and I rented motorbikes from Ao Nang and rode out to Namtok Ron. It was a long but scenic drive with plenty of fun stops along the way. Namtok has a couple of large swimming pools but they were too hot for us to enter. Walking a bit further past the pools is the hot spring waterfall, and it's very nice. We walked across the rocks and into the waterfall for a small soak and then headed down the path to a dock. You can climb a ladder from the dock and enter the pool/stream where the water cascades from the waterfall. It is the perfect temperature and surrounded by trees and other forest growth. A very nice stop!

Another disappointment really. This is on the list of 'attractions' to visit while in Krabi. there are many such hot springs. This one is just a small pool where warm water flows. You are advised not to stay in the water for too long. It was nice sensation to lie in the warm water.
A word of warning, the rocks are very slippery and you have to be very careful. A slip could get you in serious trouble with broken bones or nasty gashes.
When we went there it was quite but as we were leaving a several groups turned up. It got crowded and would have been very difficult to enjoy.

The water itself was delightful; felt like stepping into a jacuzzi (without the bubbles). Very relaxing, surprisingly comforting, and pleasant on the skin. It was however, very busy and crowded. Don’t expect to get a picture perfect photo as people sit on every step up the waterfall. My advice would be to get there very early - a lot earlier than we did which was around midday. We did enjoy a small section of water to ourselves for a short while.

Did a tour with Cattery and it was perfect, the organisation was perfect, instructions were clear, driver was in time, lunch was buffet and the food was delitious. I read some reviews before and was scared but now i don’t understand them. It was definitely worth it.

Is there an entrance fee to the hot springs and if so, how much is it?
Written February 19, 2019
There is for non-Thai visitors. It isn't very much but a lot of the national parks and attractions require some form of payment.

Any idea what time it closed on a weekday? Would appreciate a reply ASAP bcoz we are in Krabi and would like to visit today! Thanks so much

It is better to visit this place in the morning itself. It closes by evening 5 PM if i remember correctly.

I am planning to go with my old parents. Can someone share private transport hire contacts?
Can my parents go there easily?
Written October 1, 2017
Hi we just booked our private transport the day before with one of the taxi people waiting around the streets near our hotel - centara ande devhi- (but July quiet so I'd you are going in the peak this may not be so easy). We have done this sort of thing many times before and haven't had any problems (however we tend to travel in the quieter season so I know things can be different if hectic) If you are concerned about this last minute type arrangement especially with parents to consider I'd book with Krabi Shuttle Services, we used them for our airport transfers which we pre booked before leaving home and they were reliable. This would cost you more but you might feel more comfortable with it arranged ahead of time. If your vehicle needs to be an actual proper minivan (bigger than a large 7 seater family car) for your group size, I'd go with the shuttle company. You didn't mention how mobile your folks are, but there is like a trolley car that you can pay a small extra fee just after the ticket gate once you are at the hot Springs. This will drive you right down to almost where the spring is. There is then a short 5 minute walk to the hot Springs, and this walk is on a slightly uneven surface. This maybe particularly helpful for the stifling heat. I hope you enjoy your holiday. Cheers

Is there any changing room for women in this hot spring
Written September 8, 2017
Hi there is definitely a bathroom (new when I was there in July and even had a disabled toilet/bathroom) just before the gate where you pay to go in. There are a handful of stalls selling drinks and souvenirs right next to the cat park and the toilet facilities are there. I don't remember there being change facilities once you enter the gate to walk down to the Falls but I could be mistaken.
We travelled from AoNong with our swimming gear on underneath our clothes and just used towels to sit on in the car once we were wet.
We also went to Emerald pool and were wet from swimming there also so we weren't bothering changing in between. ENJOY

distance between tubkaak boutique resort and the hot springs. wat is the best way to get there
Written May 9, 2017
It should be about an hour. The two most convenient ways I believe are 1) Hire a bike if there's only two of you and either one has a bike license; and 2) hire a private driver. I chose the latter as it is more convenient and I could planned several other distant places to visit the whole day.
