Probably the most disappointing National Park
Mar 2018 • Family
Walks are OK and viewpoints are good. Not really all I expected.Probably the most disappointing National Park I have visited in Thailand. Double standards with entrance fees. Foreigners charged more. Would not go again.

What a foreigner can expect
Jul 2016 • Family
Living in Thailand, I love visiting and discovery the less popular attractions. As a foreigner wishing to enter a National park I expect to be charged a higher rate than a Thai citizen, this is a sad reality of Thai tourism. However rules were that a foreigner working here could access national parks at a reasonably comparative Thai price. Unfortunately this has changed and the rate a foreigner is charged is discriminating to say the least. This leads me to say that despite my intention to visit national parks I am always slightly reluctant to pay for these minor tourist attractions. This park was a great disappointment once I was granted access. The countryside is as always magnificent in rural Isarn and the site is clean . A short walk takes you to view points which lead to paths that trekking fanatics might wish to venture upon. Other than that the mysterious stacked stones provide photo shot souvenirs of a sightseeing spectacle, albeit less sensational than other sites I have visited at lower cost; hence leaving me with a sour after taste.

Interesting place to see but with some little drawbacks

We, my wife and me (Farang/Thai) visited this National Park. From Mugdahan by Taxi (300BHT oneway) about 17km away. Here comes the first surprise: Thai entrance fee 20BHT, Foreigner (whatever that means) 100BHT. Don't expect now some documentation in english or any other language spoken or written, than Thai.
Back to the site: It is really interesting to see what water over centuries can do to Sandstone. I add some pictures to give you an idea.
It is a pretty wide area to hike, casual shoe work will do it. The trails are not clearly signed as man would expect, so pay attention not to get lost somewhere (you will find the way out but might have to walk back quite a distance. Take water with you as there is no supply available on the trails and the sun is hot with little or no shade. At the exit you might enjoy a fresh Coconutdrink.
Btw: get the mobile number from the Taxidriver to call for pick up.
