Last year, my 5 yr old son’s classmate and patents went up Phu Kradeung and showed us the photos which were so beautiful! My sons wanted to go this year and they challenged us- so why not? I’ve been living a sedentary lifestyle
My wife and I (Thai and Aussie couple in late 40’s with moderate fitness) visited Phu Kradeung as a 3 day trip from Bangkok. We did the overnight bus from Mo Chit to Phu Kradeung (bus is signed for “Loei”). The trip was excellent -...More

Phu Kradueng is an absolutely beautiful national park. The climb up to the top of the plateau is challenging, but doable with no training. Every 1k there is food and drink availible and benches to sit and rest. Once you make it up to the...More
I really enjoyed our trip to Phu Kradeung. I like hiking and walking so it was right up my street. This one of my favorite places in Thailand though it was a bit difficult getting to and from the national park for us. The following...More
It is not a walk in the park with 5,5K upwards hiking and another 3,5K to the campsite. But it is worth it!
There's food/drinks stations at every 1K, and it is quite beautiful to see the forest changing as you walk upwards.
Approx 5 .5 hours from bottom to the top.
There are 8 stops with food drinks tee shirts so also depends on how many and how long your stops are.
Then 3km walk further on flat road to camp site so another hour if walking slow.

You do not need to book the porter in advance. They are readily available. All you need to do is to drop-off the loads intended for the porter at the counter at the gate. The loads will be charged by weight. As for the bungalow, the Phu Kadueng National Park is the only place where you can book your accommodation. The paths throughout the park are well documented and local guide is not needed. Hope the above is helpful for your planning.
