Mae Fah Luang Garden is located in Doi Tung area (also including nearby Doi Tung Royal Villa, Hall of Inspiration). It has fountain, beautiful flowers decorated with different concept for your visit, looking or posing pictures. And the key highlight here is The sculpture "Continuity", ends of the Garden to exit gate. Must visit when you arrive Chiang Rai.

We spent a very relaxing hour or so in the gardens. They are very well kept with plants imaginatively displayed. Lots of them are plants that are usually found in cooler climates that that of Thailand, so if you are from the UK expect to see some that are very familiar. I personally really enjoyed the orchids. Well worth a visit.

My wife and I are gardeners, photographers, and outdoor enthusiasts, and met the Princess Mother almost 20 years ago, so those inclinations doubtless color this review. Still, it is difficult to overstate the impact of Doi Tung, and the Mae Fah Luang gardens in particular. Across damp walkways, and down steep stairs, you gradually immerse in the gardens as you descend from the road above. And don't let Cheap Charlies tell you you can see enough from the road! This has to be strolled over time (we spent four hours like it was nothing!). From riparian gardens and jungle themes, to a lovely orchid collection, a sprawling temperate annual garden, and on to the amphitheater with its central monument, there is little these gardens do not attempt. And they succeed beautifully. This place is worth even a long trip to see. The staff of gardeners is amazingly creative, works with speed and efficiency, and follows precise seasonal calendars. I suspect visits every three weeks all year would show significant differences. The light is magical, the colors are almost overwhelming, and everywhere are places to stop and have your lover pose for your camera. Mae Fah Luang gardens are in my top five world-wide. Go!!
