Wat By The Sea
May 2019 • Friends
This is probably the one and only Wat By The Sea in Thailand.

It is a bit difficult to find this place, we missed the entrance once and have to U-Turn after asking locals for directions.

There are a few temples within the complex, beside the 2 by the sea, on firmer grounds there seem to be a temple for nuns.

There is a tower that is incomplete, i can see the lift shaft pending.

very interesting local place.

Unique temple
Apr 2019 • Family
This temple is unlike anything I have seen in Thailand before. It is placed on a platform on poles in the sea. It has thousands of small bells hanging outside making a nice sound in the breeze. If you think that about temples you have seen them all - this is a little different. Nice view from the third floor, would be a perfect spot for sunsets, but we were here earlier in the day. I did not see one single other westerners here. Lovely place. They are not as strict about the dress code as in Bangkok, but I would still suggest modest clothing

Temple Pier
Jun 2017
Wat hong thong is basically like the small version of the Santa Montica Pier but it has many walk ways

There are many walk ways on the pier. One way leads to the temple.

It is in Chachoengsao, a rural province with many crops.

There is one thing though that you always have to remember- Bring a hat and sunglasses. It is so hot, you could get sunburned really quick!

A Unique Setting
Mar 2017 • Couples
Visited 16-Mar

Located on the coast road between Bangkok and Chon Buri City, this is a lovely temple complex built over the water. You arrive at the temple after passing through a fish farming area and the temple itself juts out into the ocean from the surrounding mangroves.

This complex also provides a little more than the usual insights into Buddhism as we saw quite a number of younger boys receiving instruction and women with shaved heads and wearing white garments who had devoted themselves to religious life. I believe that these are referred to as "Eight-Precept laywomen".

A bit different to your average Wat due to its unique location and not a lot of tourists to contend with. The ocean setting combined with the tinkling of the many bells hanging from the walkway, adds to the tranquillity and makes this feel like the perfect place for contemplation and reflection ….

A very particular place. Different from other temples in Thai

Loved this place. Tranquil and magnificent. There are not many tourists and it is pretty quiet and relaxing. A bit remote, but the way there worth it.
There are lots of cats inside :)
The entry is free of charge. You can make small donations to the temple and change/coins are available.
I have just posted a short video on my blog Innagram about it if you would like to see more!
Enjoy your trip to Thailand.

Magnificient Temple on the sea
Dec 2015 • Friends
A great temple situated on top of the sea. Silted walkway were created to connect the temple to the mainland. There were many bells hanging on walkway to the temple, as the wind blow, great to hear the shimmering sound of the mini bells. Nice if to visit the temple during sunset to have more photo opportunities.
