    Impressive temple north of Bangkok
The free guided tour. The impressive buildings. The friendliness of all. Take skytrain or Metro to Victory monument. North of the circle take the bus 29 north till Bangkok University, where it's a 10 minute taxi ride to the entrance of the temple. Not much travel guides mention this place.

    Serene , beautiful temple
Such a beautiful and serene atmosphere of this huge temple and meditation center. We were warmly welcomed by the staff of the international reception center and very courteous to show us the full premises . The open air meditation grounds are huge and so beautiful & peaceful . We were very blessed to visit this place .

I visited this place after seeing some photos of it on facebook, I was studying close by so it wasn't too far out of the way for me,

When I got there however, things were just weird. They're not a temple in the classic sense, more of a cult branched off of Buddhism.

Not worth the visit even to snap a few pics of the golden Buddha statues.

Saw it from the net & wanted to see when in Thailand.. Taxi drivers are clueless as well as the many others. No sign boards directions what so ever until u get closer...Its an amazing place. A real worth of the visit. So cool & peaceful. Must visit during the happening times.

Went to Wat Phra Dhammakaya having a good google idea of what it was about. Both my wife and myself were totally astounded ar the size and dedication of the temple.
This has all the reminders of a future Ankorwat. We went to the visitors section and were given a tour by a young lady called "Pat" who explained the aims and plans of the organisation without trying to indoctrate or gain donations.
set up to perfect meditation it has appartments blocks for monks, other blocks for volunteers plus a Buddhist University with a study program including The Pali Language. The main temple area has been built not only to last 1000years but also to cater for one million devotees.
WOW is an understatement.
You will need to take a taxi to get there,we dressed in all white but if needed thet will supply white clothes for the tour.
We were offered a basic meditation session with a teaching monk which was very heart warming and beneficial.
Allow at least 2 hours ideally 3 hours,ed were there 4 hours and as you can read thougerly enjoyed it.

I have been traveling to Wat Phra Dhammakaya for many years and the reason I go back is because of the feelings that this Temple inspires in me and the people who attend. Although it is very large in area, the structures are beautifully designed and built. The landscaping is also beautiful and really is conducive to practicing meditation. The Meditation stadium is built for 1 million people to be able to meditate all at once, and I have been there when there have been 850,000. It is, needless to say, impressive. But more even than this, if you are lucky enough to meditate in the Stadium either by yourself or with others, you are overcome with the sense of peace and gratitude for the people who envisioned the facility and all of the people who built it. The workshops that they offer for meditation are worth the trip and they are often offered in several languages. The only thing that prevents people from going is the fact that this can be a cultural experience that, because it is different, can be a bit intimidating. Do not let those feelings bother you. Go. You will definitely make new friends. AND, you will learn to meditate! (Nothing better than that.)

I visited that temple and it looks really like a great place. I met people who work there at some Buddhist event. Very interesting and my friends and I would probably like it more BUTwe saw a true paradox. the most unbelievable thing we all found was one of the women who "works" for them called Kanda ( or Kan as they called her), a short definition of this strange creature is; small, brown Thai woman in her 30. EXTREMELY UNFRIENDLY, UNPOLITE, OPENLY RUDE AND TOTALLY IGNORANT, FULL OF HATERED AND CLUELESS ABOUT EVERYTHING, THE MOST AMUSING THING WAS WHEN SHE WAS PRETENDING TO BE A `PHOTOGRAPHER`.. hahaha.. wow.. and the most UNBELIEVABLE THING WE SAW WAS HER EXXTREMLY AGGRESSIVE ATTITUDE TOWARDS TWO WESTERN GIRLS. TRULLY SHOCKING!!!!!!!! We had strange feeling while talking to her as her talking was like a talk of a 5 years old kid and her behaviour like somebody with a serious mental problem or emotional disorder.
AND then we had an interesting talk with a very friendly, polite and a kind monk wearing orange robe and then another talk with another Thai lady who works for this Dhammakaya temple. This one was a very helpful and polite , speaking good English, kind-hearted lady, the total opposite to the Kanda thingy. Unfortunately I cannot remember her name now, she told us she is just volunteering there and that we shouldn`t consider this Kanda as even Thai people who know her don`t like her and consider her rude, ignorant, very nasty. She is known for her lies and evil talking about Buddhist monks, other volunteers, foreign visitors, foreign ladies, Thai teachers, students etc...
A big paradox and a serious contradiction here!!! Why somebody like this unfriendly, ignorant Kanda is admitted to work at such an amazing Buddhist temple? Don`t they have any filters who is representing them? Kanda is like a scarecrow in that temple, it `s very sad to see this crazy ignorant ruining the reputation of a nice Buddhist place. Thai people cannot stand her and avoid her and the foreigners will surely avoid the temple and Buddhism if they meet Kanda. We believe Kanda should be removed from representing this beautiful Dhammakaya temple and strongly trained somewhere for a long period of time. Wishing the Dhammakaya temple and all the nice people and friendly monks all the best for the beautiful future. :-)

Four of us went on 12May in the afternoon, checked in at the foreign visitors centre, changed into their white uniform and went on a tour in their truck with English speaking Pia explaining in details about the temple complex and its history. It dispel all the negatives we heard in the press and comes out appreciating what a wonderful job they have done for the temple .Even my friends are keen to donate to put a Buddha statue on the gigantic certiya, something I did decade ago on advice of my Thai friend. Will come back again and attend one of their many meditation classes.

Very friendly people, they accept all tourists. Nice English staffs.

English reception staff.
Search ‘ WDCReception ‘ on Facebook, Twitter and make appointment with free super friendly staffs.

Take BTS train from Chit Lom (E1) to last station such as Mo Chit - Chatuchak (N8) ( as of 2018 ), then take taxi. This is the best way for 2018. Next 2 years they will have closer train station.

Must visit place for Buddhists. Extremely clean and Huge. The place is with Pagodas, Meditation places, universities for monks etc. in short its a Buddhist village. Best is if you check the website for activities and conditions prior to your travel. so that either you can schedule your trip on a day of activity and make appointment with a guide. the lady guided us was super friendly, extremely nice and caring (English translation of her name was Shrimp :)).
The Main Pagoda is in the middle of the mediation stadium. the amazing thing is you see golden top and actually its 700,000 golden Buddha statues. The mediatiation stadium is enormous. can accommodate over 1000. then there are two pagodas dedicated for the Founding Chief Prelate and chief Upasika. A huge library is in the making.
simply its a place every Buddhist must see but they have certain set of conditions you have to comply to in order to experience the total visit. must wear white top to bottom. It is one of the tidiest places i have seen and they try to keep it that way.

Ignore the Thai media, it is a must visit place for me in Thailand. They offer free drink, free meal, free tour with NO ENTRY FREE. The size of the temple is gigantic but it is spectacularly clean. The meditation is great, I felt peace and calm. Had a chance to be there during newyear where the have a big alms giving on the 1st of Jan. the temple was filled with great and positive vibes.
