This is yet another site which I am amazed that you do not yet have a listing for!!!! It is a 10th c. Byzantine Monastery with the "remains" of "Holy Luke"., a great healer of the 10th c. which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and etc., etc. When you list it on your site, I will write a review of a visit here (which was astounding!!)

This is a beautiful monastery well worth the trip from Athens. We were lucky enough to see onsite monks preparing for Holy Thursday prayers. The location is in a secluded area that is breathtaking.

We got here midday and mostly had the place to ourselves. It was beautiful and peaceful and very spiritual--a big change after the hustle and bustle of Athens. Lots of great photographic opportunities both of the monastery complex and the landscape. Be sure to pick...More

This ancient monastery has incredible religious, architectural and geographical significance. The views are breathtaking and you do wonder how the remoteness was handled 1000 years ago. Meaningful displays give you a sense to buildings and the religious communities. Fortunately we were there between bus loads...More

We stopped here on the way home from Delphi heading back to Athens and had no idea what to expect. The church, property, courtyard, architecture and views from the property are all amazing. Well worth the stop when you are coming or going from Delphi.

There is a small gift shop with info about the monastery. I don't think it necessary.
