Unfortunately, we were not able to get inside as the doors were closed but even the outside is stunning and worth a visit. The colorful decor is really unique among the mosques in town and even the ones I have seen so far in Bosnia. This is the first mosque I have come across that also has shops in the colonnade. I was tempted to get a coffee under the mosque just for the experience.

The outside of this mosque doesn't begin to indicate the beauty that is inside. Stained glass windows, quiet, plush carpet. The second level is the women's area, it didn't feel like a lesser area to me.

The colorful Mosque of Travnik! It is recommended to visit, it was probably my first time in a Mosque. We arrived there and it was closed but our guide called someone or contacted the Imam and he happily came quickly to open it for us. We were also provided with veils for our hair so we did not have to buy anything extra. Very interesting to see how colorful it is and it is still in use. :)

The coloured mosque is in the middle of the old city. It is a small mosque and you can visit it on prayer times. It the outside is not special but the inside of the mosque is really beutifull with handcarfts. Travnik is 90 kilometers from sarajevo and can be visited in half day. Some of the souvenirs are cheaper then Sarajevo.

This is Suleymanis Mosque or Multi-coloured Mosque. It was built in 1757 during Ottoman era. Really an architectural beauty. Unfortunately the doors were locked as other mosques in Bosnia, and it opens during the prayer time only. Nice water stream in front of the mosque, many benches to sit, and a few surrounding shops.

This mosque, in its basic architecture fairly straightforward and simple, is particularly interesting and striking due to the unusual and ornate decoration, inside and out.
It is built in a fairly simple vernacular style with hipped roof common for less grand Ottoman mosques, rather than the grander domed mosques associated with the Ottoman elite.
However, the outside is notable for its frescoes while the inside is very intricately painted and it has an ornate wooden ceiling. It is very charming and a top place in Travnik to visit. Of the main historic mosques in town, this also seems to be the one most commonly open and it was the only we were able to go inside, the others being locked when we were in town.
It faces a small, charming plaza in the heart of the town centre/ business district and a short walk from both the fortress (Stari Grad) and the dining area of Plava Voda. There is a small shopping area built into its front colonnade, a not uncommon aspect of mosques, especially smaller ones. They typically would be part of a charitable complex that would include thigns such as a market (Çarşı (Turkish)/Čaršija (Bosnian, etc.) or han, bath (hamam), soup kitchen, and the like. Smaller mosques in particular would include these as an arcade or lower level right in the mosque building, in contrast to grander mosques which would have separate market structures.

It belongs to a rare type of Ottoman mosques, with bazaar under it - there is one more similar in Prizren in Macedonia and a few in Turkey. Definitely worth a visit, especially as it is open to everybody (of course NOT during the five daily prayers - then tourists have to wait a bit)

Beautiful masjid must see.
It is reserved by the Unesco. And consider historical wonder of Bosnia. We stopped for Thuhur and Asr prayers on our road trip.
