Really informative and moving experience - we found out so much about the forest on our wonderful guided walk. Our guide Merepaea was also wonderful.

This was our favorite experience in all of New Zealand.....a daytime walking tour through the forest and meeting the majestic Tane Mahuta with our guide Bill Mathews. As we approached the ancient tree, Bill sang our introduction to this Lord of the Forest. His knowledge...More

See the God of the Forest like never before. We did the Twilight Encounter. This was absolutly perfect. We had lovely guides and a great, breathetaking tour. And the best of all: You help protecting the forest which is very important while there is a...More

Seeing the giant Kauri trees in the twilight was incredible and especially with our Maori guide, Merepaea. She generously shared stories, prayers and song. We had a really good group including some young local Maori.

Just back from the twilight tour with our amazing guide Merepaea and we couldn't be happier. The kauri trees were majestic and beautiful, but the experience was made so much more special with the inclusion of the Maori culture. We will not forget this tour...More

I went on the Twilight Tour with Merepaea Kendall. The woods were beautiful and her stories and singing really made the tour. Highly recommend!

Billy Boy gave us an awesome tour of Te Manutanahere, Four Sisters and Tanemahuta. His explanation of the canopies, the history and the legends made the area come alive.

On our night tour, near the end, we were served a very warm tea. It was very good. But there is no food offered. And they would likely frown upon eating during the tour. Eat before.

I presume you will be docking in Russell so would be quite a drive 1.5 hours each way I would think. Our tour only started at 6pm so that wouldn't work for you. You don't have to do a tour you could always hire a car and... More
