Breathtaking views, a must to do, the weather must be with you, and choose a period that isn't during public holidays. By far more agreeable and it will give you a fantastic time with mother nature!

On a hot summers day the Les Gorges de la Jordanne provided a pleasant cool, easily accessible/child friendly walk within this simply stunning gorge. The walk is long enough with changing scenery and attractive timber bridges to make it a pleasant way to while away a couple of hours without it being too challenging for younger children. For older children 10+ there looked to be a more adrenalin fuelled zip wire trail but check on line. This area of France has some incredible countryside and this is a really nice sustainable attraction.

Beautiful sunny afternoon walk along the river - only open in the off-season by arrangement and not all of it sadly open now, but a glorious place for a walk. Access is challenging both at the beginning and end but the gorge walk ltself is very accessible to all. Nice places to stop to identify animal tracks and trees - walk there and back on the same path. Well worth doing and not very busy when we did it. The sunshine also helps!!! :)

If you wish to make a nice walk in a beautiful place nice and cool in summer, mostly in the shade by the river then that is the place to go. It will take you at least an hour to go and come back but you can walk more slowly even stop and sit down on the benches or have a picnic on the wooden picnic tables. It Is an ideal thing to do on a very hot summer day. There is a special game for kids with questions and answers on flora and fauna around you very interesting.

A lovely walk through the gorge where you criss-cross the river on modern, wooden bridges. They say it takes 2 hours but we had a picnic lunch and a swim and were there for over 4 hours. You walk up and back the same way which is a bit of a downside but it was very pleasant. There is a small entrance fee and with that the kids got a quiz to do recognising trees and animal tracks which they thoroughly enjoyed. There are some steep sections and wouldn't be suitable if you were not steady on your feet.

Bonjour.

Bonne balade.
