Next year will be the 540th anniversary of the appearance of the ghost, the legend has it that every ten days of the twentieth day of July, in 1480 the young Count Martinengo's young daughter falls into the moat and died, so don’t missed the date .....
The castle is beautiful with its classica square shape and four towers, still has the moat with the drawbridge.
The inside court has a beautiful portico and the facade of the palace created in eighteenths century .
A few hundred meters from the castle you can also see a bridge with tree branches made by a contemporary artist

Not so easy to find even if not so faraway from Brescia. It seems the village has stopped some centuries ago. Nice castle and very restaurant close it. The whole village is less than 500mts long.

Castle in good condition in the plain of lower Brescia. Well preserved thanks to the Castle Foundation and thanks to the Volunteers who work there. The rooms visited really give an idea of the time. The foundation organizes visits. Trained staff available polite.
To see.

We arrive at the castle after some changes of plans and decide to try to join the guided tour at 10:30. Even though the group was complete (a family of ancient origins right in Padernello), they kindly let us join.

We visit the castle in an hour or so of passionate stories about the history and events of the castle, excellently furnished and restored; but what is striking is the desire to keep such a historic place alive with current initiatives aimed at involving nearby places.

This is how the Castle stands as a Fortress in the face of current times, in defense of old traditions and of a territory that has so much to offer and is little exploited. I will definitely keep an eye on future initiatives.

A truly pleasant half-day visit to a castle which, after having been in ruins for decades, has been skilfully restored.
Today, with a mixed public/private management and with the help of a group of very nice volunteers, its splendor has returned.
The still functioning drawbridge with lever mechanism over the water-filled moat is just one of the many beautiful things.
Inside, in addition to the courtyard, you can visit the rooms, the staircases, the different rooms and a kitchen reconstructed in detail with the original materials.
In many rooms, in addition to many beautiful books, a beautiful collection of old and antique work tools and ornaments.
It is used for events, exhibitions, markets and receptions but the real fun is touring it with interesting guided tours.
Recommended for children but also for adults alone.

A jewel in the small village of Padernello, it lends itself to a serene and pleasant "outing" in the midst of the beautiful countryside.
We arrived on a Sunday, when an exhibition of watches was organized in the internal courtyard and therefore there was also time to admire many curious (and expensive ...) specimens. Tours organized approximately every half hour at a modest price and with helpful and friendly staff. In the area, there are some certainly interesting restaurants to spend a pleasant day.

Pleasant visit to the castle. The commitment to the restoration was notable after the abundance and collapse of some parts due to neglect.
The guide (Silvia) who accompanied us on the visit which lasted about an hour and a quarter was truly good and competent.
I recommend visiting the site for information on the various events held at the castle

Padernello Castle is a hidden gem that exudes history and charm in every corner. Located in the heart of the Lombardy countryside, this magnificent medieval castle enchants visitors with its impressive architecture and ancient walls.

Once you cross the drawbridge and enter the internal courtyard, you are immediately transported back in time. The imposing towers, the crenellated walls and the historic frescoes tell of centuries of history and noble deeds.

Inside, visitors can explore the frescoed rooms, tastefully furnished rooms and the internal courtyard, where it is possible to admire the Renaissance well and the porticoed courtyard. Every detail has been carefully preserved, allowing visitors to completely immerse themselves in the medieval atmosphere.

Furthermore, the castle hosts cultural events, exhibitions and shows which add further charm to this already magical location. Both for history lovers and for those looking for a day of leisure immersed in beauty, Padernello Castle is an unmissable stop in the heart of Lombardy.
