I guess, since we saw the Paoay Church the day before, I felt underwhelmed by this church. This was not on my list of places to go to but we stopped for a bit here for pictures with the bell tower (another one again). Bacarra is the town north of Laoag. It takes less than 20 minutes to go there. You can pass by the town on the way further up north. In the last 300 years, Bacarra has had multiple earthquakes so St Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church is not just a declared Filipino national treasure but a partly reconstructed survivor to boot. If you are going to the beaches of Pagudpud from Laoag, I suggest you go the route Bacarra (Bacarra Church) – Pasuquin (Pasuquin Bakery) - Burgos (Burgos Lighthouse) – Bangui (Bangui Windmills) - Pagudpod. the surroundings are clean, peaceful and church interior is solemn. spend a very few minutes to take great pictures :)
